mutually and propound a view free from antagonism, their exposition is true as it gives rise to Jainism, For, a substance has infinite attributes such as general com-particular, In that way all the 'nayas' should make relative expositions by consulting one anther. The author has dealt with the topic pertaining to relative and absolute (views). Nowhere in this work he has dealt with the distinction between 'naya' and durnaya' he has simply treated view points, The following is an important question : How is it that Mallavadin has not dealt with this distinction even when it is treated by Siddhasena Divakra in his work. Sammatitarka (Sammaipayarana).
These twelve spokes are the Bhangas of vidhi' and 'niyama'. The first four spokes are bhangas' of 'vidhi' and they make up one Marga (felly) the next four are bhangas of both and they form second felly: and the remaining four or 'bhangas' of 'niyama' and they form the third felly, This felly establishes eternity, eternity, non-eternity and non-eternity by means of reasonings viz, non-creation, creation, non-creation and creation (respectively).
The following fact is expounded in the nave of Nayacakra;-when these twelve nayas becom unanimous and behave as expectant of one another make assertions, they (nayas) point out the real nature as they are enlighteners of the complete object such :
Farfer: Firma : FineP : 787 : etc. This is very thing is the main subject matter for exposition of Nayacakra. This very thing is the main subject for exposition of Nayacakra.
The Author and his Greatness :-The Author of this work if Mallavadin Samas ramana crest-jewel of disputants, This Suri (preceptor ) is renowned in the Jaina works on logic. The commentator of Nayacakra observes:
" जयति नयचक्रविनिर्जितनिःशेषविपक्षचक्रविक्रान्त । श्रीमल्लवादिसूरिर्जिनवचनभस्तलविवस्वान्॥
This means, He who has defeated all the antagonists of syadvada by means of Sudars'ana wheel in the form of a wheel of nayas is victorious. Mallavadin Suri. the Sun in the sky of the Jaina canon.
From the above-mentioned verse we learn :
(i) Mallavadin Suri is the author of Nayacakra.
(II) He is the conqueror of disputants.
(III) He enlightens us on Jina-vacana (Word of the Tirthankara) i. e. to say he is
duly conversant with the essence of the Jaina canon extent in those days and he
is its illuminator. This Suri is very celebrate in the Jaina world in view of his logical acumen. He vanquishes hosts of masterly disputants in dispute worse by constructing an excellent and inferable array of reasonings for establishing his view. This fact is very well revealed by this excellent and important work of his, Just as his tongue ( speech ) was skilful in refuting views of opponents so his pen (composition ) toy, was moving fast in establishing his own, thesis.
