विशेष स्पष्टीकरण गाथा ३-"कालीपव्वंगसंकासे" में 'कालीपव्व' का अर्थ-काकजंघा नामक तृणविशेष है (चूर्णि)। डॉ. हर्मन जेकोबी तथा डॉ. सांडेसरा आदि आधुनिक विद्वान् इसका अर्थ "कौए की जाँघ" करते हैं जो शरीर की अत्यन्त कृशता का सूचक है। ___गाथा १३-चूर्णि के अनुसार मुनि जिनकल्प अवस्था में अचेलक रहता है। वृ. वृ. के मतानुसार जिनकल्पी मुनि अचेलक रहते हैं। स्थविरकल्पी भी वस्त्र-प्राप्ति के अभाव में अचेलक रह सकता है।
गाथा २५–'ग्राम कण्टक'-कानों में काँटों के समान चुभने वाले कठोर शब्द। (चूर्णि)
गाथा ३९-चूर्णि के अनुसार 'अणुक्कसाई' के दो रूप होते हैं-(१) अणुकषायी-अल्पकषाय वाला और (२) अनुत्कषायी-सत्कार-सम्मान आदि के लिये उत्कंठा न रखने वाला।
गाथा ४३–'उपधान'-आगमों का विधिवत् अध्ययन करते समय परम्परागत निश्चित विधि के अनुसार जो आयंबिल आदि तप किया जाता है, वह उपधान है। (वृ. वृ.)

Verse-13—According to the commentary (Churni) an ascetic remains unclad or without clothes in Jinakalpa (highest level of austerities) state. This is also confirmed by another commentary (Vrihad Vritti). Even in the sthavira kalpi (state of a senior and non-itinerant ascetic or acharya) state an ascetic may remain unclad if he cannot get proper garb.
Verse-25—Graam Kantak-Harsh words piercing ears like thorns (Churni).
Verse-39-According to Churni the word anukkasaai has two forms-(1) Anukashaayi meaning one with few passions; and (2) Anutkashaayi meaning one who is not eager for greetings, honours etc. ____Verse-43-Upadhaan-The traditionally prescribed ritual austerities, including ayambil (eating once in a day food cooked or baked with a single ingredient and even without any salt or other condiments) observed while studying canonical literature according to the laid down procedure is called upadhaan.
