सचित्र उत्तराध्ययन सूत्र
वही नक्षत्र जब आकाश के अन्तिम चतुर्थ भाग में आ जाता है-रात्रि का अन्तिम चतुर्थ प्रहर प्रारम्भ हो जाता है तब उसे वैरात्रिक काल समझकर मुनि स्वाध्याय आदि आवश्यक क्रियाओं में प्रवृत्त हो जाय ॥२०॥
When the same nakshatra reaches the last quarter of the sky, which indicates the beginning of the fourth quarter of the night, considering it to be the post-sleep period (vairaatrik kaal), he should resume his studies and other essential duties. (20)
पुव्विल्लंमि चउब्भाए, पडिले हित्ताण भण्डयं।
गुरुं वन्दित्तु सज्झायं, कुज्जा दुक्खविमोक्खणं ॥२१॥ विशेष दिनकृत्य
दिन के प्रथम प्रहर के प्रथम चतुर्थ भाग में भण्डोपकरणों की प्रतिलेखना करे, तदुपरान्त गुरु को वन्दना करके सभी दुःखों से मुक्त कराने वाला स्वाध्याय करे ॥ २१॥
Special day time acts
During the first quarter of the first prahar (quarter) of the day he should inspect and clean his ascetic-equipment. After that he should pay homage to the guru and indulge in studying, which leads to emancipation from all miseries. (21)
पोरिसीए चउब्भाए, वन्दित्ताण तओ गुरूं।
अपडिक्कमित्ता कालस्स, भायणं पडिलेहए॥२२॥ तदनन्तर प्रथम पौरुषी का चतुर्थ भाग शेष रहे यानी पौन (३/४) पौरुषी व्यतीत हो जाय तब गुरु को वन्दन करके और काल का प्रतिक्रमण (कायोत्सर्ग) किये बिना ही पात्र (भाजन) आदि की प्रतिलेखना करे ॥ २२॥
After that in the last quarter of the first paurushi he should again pay homage to the guru and without performing critical review for that period he should inspect and clean the bowls and other things. (22)
मुहपोत्तियं पडिलेहित्ता, पडिलेहिज्ज गोच्छगं।
गोच्छगलइयंगुलियो, वत्थाई पडिलेहए॥२३॥ प्रतिलेखना की विधि
मुँहपत्ति (मुखवस्त्रिका) की प्रतिलेखना करके गोच्छग का प्रतिलेखन करे। अंगुलियों से गोच्छग को पकड़कर वस्त्रों की प्रतिलेखना करे॥ २३ ॥ Method of inspection
___He should first inspect (and clean) mouth-cover and then his ascetic-broom. After that, holding the broom with fingers, he should inspect and clean his garb. (23)
उड्ढं थिरं अतुरियं, पुव्वं ता वत्थमेव पडिलेहे। तो बिइयं पप्फोडे, तइयं च पुणो पमज्जेज्जा ॥२४॥
