प्रथमतः उकडू आसन से बैठे, वस्त्र को ऊँचा व स्थिर रखे और शीघ्रता न करते हुए उसका प्रतिलेखन करे-आँखों से देखे। दूसरे में यतना से वस्त्र को धीरे से झटकावे-प्रस्फोटना करे। तीसरे में पुनः प्रमार्जना करे ॥ २४॥
First he should sit in squatting posture, spread the cloth holding it high and still and inspect it visually without haste. Then he should shake it gently. At last he should wipe it clean. (24)
अणच्चावियं अवलियं, अणाणुबन्धिं अमोसलिं चेव।
छप्पुरिमा नव खोडा, पाणीपाणविसोहणं ॥ २५॥ प्रतिलेखना के दोष
प्रतिलेखना करते समय शरीर को या वस्त्र को नचावे नहीं (१), या वस्त्र को मरोड़े (मोड़े) नहीं (२), वस्त्र को दृष्टि से अलक्षित न करे (३), दीवार आदि से वस्त्र का स्पर्श न होने दे (४), वस्त्र के छह पूर्व और नौ खोटक (प्रस्फोट) करे (५), यदि कोई प्राणी (वस्त्र पर) हो तो उसका विशोधन करे (६) ॥ २५ ॥ Faults of inspection
While inspecting he should not shake his body or the cloth (1); not twist the cloth (2); not move the cloth away from his vision (3); and not allow the cloth to touch wall or other things (4). He should fold it up six times in breadth and nine times in length (5); and then wipe it clean with palms to gently remove if there are any insects. (25)
आरभडा सम्मद्दा, वज्जेयव्वा य मोसली तइया।
पप्फोडणा चउत्थी, विक्खित्ता वेइया छट्ठा ॥२६॥ (१) आरभटा-निर्दिष्ट विधि से विपरीत प्रतिलेखन करना अथवा एक वस्त्र का पूरी तरह प्रतिलेखन किये बिना ही दूसरे वस्त्र का प्रतिलेखन करने लग जाना।
(२) सम्मर्दा-वस्त्रों को जोर से दबाकर मसल देना अथवा वस्त्रादि उपधि पर बैठ जाना। __ (३) मोसली-वस्त्र को ऊपर-नीचे, इधर-उधर किसी अन्य वस्त्र अथवा वस्तु से संघट्टित करते रहना।
(४) प्रस्फोटना-धूल-धूसरित वस्त्र को जोर से झटकना। "
(५) विक्षिप्ता-वस्त्रों को इधर-उधर फैला देना अथवा प्रतिलेखित वस्त्रों को अप्रतिलेखित वस्त्रों में मिला देना।
(६) वेदिका-प्रतिलेखना करते समय घुटनों के ऊपर, नीचे या बीच में दोनों हाथ रखना या दोनों भुजाओं के बीच में घुटनों को रखना अथवा एक घुटना भुजाओं में और दूसरा बाहर रखना ॥ २६ ॥
1. Aarbhata-To inspect garbs contrary to the prescribed method or to start inspecting another cloth before properly inspecting the first.
2. Sammarda-To press and rub cloth with force or to sit upon garb or other possessions.
