एकोनविंश अध्ययन [ 242]
He practiced ascetic-conduct for many years. At last ascetic Mrigaputra attained the lofty state of perfection (siddhi or liberation) after observing month long fast. (96)
एवं करन्ति संबुद्धा, पण्डिया पवियक्खणा।
विणियट्टन्ति भोगेसु, मियापुत्ते जहारिसी॥९७॥ जैसे ऋषि मृगापुत्र युवावस्था में भोगों से विरक्त हुए, उसी प्रकार तत्त्वज्ञानी, पण्डित और विचक्षण व्यक्ति भी सांसारिक भोगों से निवृत्त होते हैं ॥ ९७॥
As ascetic Mrigaputra renounced the worldly pleasures in his youth, in the same way enlightened, learned and prodigious individuals too abandon mundane pleasures. (97)
महापभावस्स महाजसस्स, मियाइ पुत्तस्स निसम्म भासियं। .
तवप्पहाणं चरियं च उत्तम, गइप्पहाणं च तिलोगविस्सुयं-॥९८॥ मृगा रानी के महान् प्रभावशाली तथा महायशस्वी पुत्र-ऋषि मृगापुत्र के तपोप्रधान त्रिलोक विश्रुत एवं मुक्तिरूपी प्रधान गति वाले उत्तम चरित्र के वर्णन को सुनकर- ॥ ९८॥
After hearing the austerity drenched, liberation oriented and universally known story of life of the extremely glorious and magnificent ascetic Mrigaputra, the son of queen Mriga- (98)
वियाणिया दुक्खविवद्धणं धणं, ममत्तबंध च महब्भयावहं। सुहावहं धम्मधुरं अणुत्तरं, धारेह निव्वाणगुणावहं महं॥ ९९॥
-त्ति बेमि। धन को दुःख बढ़ाने वाला और ममता के बंधन को महाभयंकर जानकर, निर्वाण के गुणों-मोक्ष को प्राप्त कराने वाली, अनन्त सुख को प्राप्त कराने वाली अनुत्तर धर्म की धुरा को धारण करो॥ ९९॥
-ऐसा मैं कहता हूँ। Knowing that wealth magnifies miseries and bondage of fondness is very atrocious, you too should hold the baton of the exalted religion that endows you with virtues leading to liberation and eternal bliss. (99)
