Getting detached from sensual pleasures and inclined to practice of restraint, Mrigaputra approached his parents and said- (10)
सुयाणि मे पंच महव्वयाणि, नरएसु दुक्खं च तिरिक्खजोणिसु। निविण्णकामो मि महण्णवाओ, अणुजाणह पव्वइस्सामि अम्मो !॥११॥
(मृगापुत्र-) मैंने पाँच महाव्रतों को सुना है। नरक और तिर्यंच योनियों के दुःख भी मैं जानता हूँ। संसाररूपी महासागर से विरक्त हो गया हूँ, मुझे कामभोगों की अभिलाषा नहीं रही है। मैं अब प्रव्रज्या ग्रहण करूँगा। हे माता ! मुझे अनुमति दो॥ ११॥
(Mrigaputra-) I have heard about five great vows. I also know the torments and sufferings of infernal and animal existences. I have become detached from the ocean of cycles of rebirth and have no desire of mundane pleasures and comforts. Now I will get initiated. O mother! Please give me your consent. (11)
. अम्मताय ! मए भोगा, भुत्ता विसफलोवमा।
पच्छा कडुयविवागा, अणुबन्ध-दुहावहा ॥१२॥ हे माता-पिता ! मैं भोगों को भोग चुका हूँ। ये विषफल के समान हैं। बाद में कटुविपाक वाले और निरन्तर दुःख देने वाले हैं ॥ १२ ॥
Mother and father! I have enjoyed pleasures and comforts. These are like poisonous fruits. They have bitter consequences and cause misery incessantly. (12)
इमं सरीरं अणिच्चं, असुइं असुइसंभवं।
असासयावासमिणं, दुक्ख-केसाण भायणं ॥१३॥ यह शरीर अनित्य है, अपवित्र है, अशुचि से उत्पन्न हुआ है तथा अशुचि-मल-मूत्र आदि का उत्पत्ति स्थान है। इसमें आत्मा का आवास अशाश्वत है तथा यह शरीर दुःखों और क्लेशों का भाजन है॥१३॥ . .
This body is transient, impure, born out of filth as well as a source of filth including stool and urine. Existence of soul in this body is transitory and this body is the vessel of miseries and sufferings. (13)
असासए सरीरम्मि, रई नोवलभामहं।
पच्छा पुरा व चइयव्वे, फेणबुब्बुय-सन्निभे॥१४॥ पहले या पीछे इसे छोड़ना ही है। यह शरीर पानी के बुलबुले के समान क्षणभंगुर है; अतः इसमें मुझे सुख की प्राप्ति नहीं हो रही है॥ १४॥
Sooner or later it has to be abandoned. This body is momentary like a water-bubble; as such, I do not derive any happiness from it. (14)
माणुसत्ते असारम्मि, वाही-रोगाण आलए। जरा-मरणपत्थम्मि, खणं पि न रमामऽहं॥१५॥
