(उत्तर) आचार्य कहते हैं-शब्द, रूप, रस, गन्ध और स्पर्श में आसक्त ब्रह्मचारी निर्ग्रन्थ को ब्रह्मचर्य के विषय में शंका, कांक्षा, विचिकित्सा समुत्पन्न होती है, ब्रह्मचर्य भंग होता है, उन्माद उत्पन्न हो जाता है, दीर्घकालीन रोग व आतंक पैदा हो जाते हैं, वह केवली भगवान द्वारा प्ररूपित धर्म से भ्रष्ट हो जाता है।
इसलिए निर्ग्रन्थ को शब्द, रूप, रस, गन्ध, स्पर्श में आसक्त नहीं होना चाहिए। यह दसवाँ ब्रह्मचर्य समाधि-स्थान है।
Tenth condition of perfect celibacy
Maxim 12-He who does not crave for (gratifying sense organs of -) sound, sight, taste, smell and touch is an ascetic.
(Q.) Why is it so?
(Ans.) The preceptor explains-If a celibate ascetic craves for (gratifying sense organs of-) sound, sight, taste, smell and touch, then doubt and disrespect for celibacy as well as desire of sexual indulgence germinate in his mind or his vow of celibacy is breached. Also he is inflicted by mental disorder, prolonged ailments and terror. Ultimately he falls from the religious path shown and established the omniscient (Kevali).
Therefore an ascetic should not crave for (gratifying sense organs of-) sound, sight, taste, smell and touch.
This is the tenth condition of perfect celibacy. भवन्ति इत्थ सिलोगा, तं जहायहाँ इस विषय में कुछ गाथाएँ (श्लोक) हैं, जो इस प्रकार हैंThere are some verses on the same theme, these are as follows
जं विवित्तमणाइण्णं, रहियं थीजणेण य।
बम्भचेरस्स रक्खट्ठा, आलयं तु निसेवए॥१॥ ब्रह्मचर्य की रक्षा के लिए संयमी विविक्त-एकान्त, अनाकीर्ण एवं स्त्रियों से रहित स्थान में रहे॥१॥
For preservation of celibacy, the restrained (ascetic) should take up a lonely detached lodging, free from and not frequented by women. (1)
मणपल्हायजणणिं, कामरागविवड्ढणिं।
बंभचेररओ भिक्खू, थीकहं तु विवज्जए॥२॥ ब्रह्मचर्य-परायण साधु चित्त में आल्हाद उत्पन्न करने वाली तथा काम-राग बढ़ाने वाली विकारवर्द्धक स्त्री-कथा का परित्याग कर दे॥२॥
A celibate ascetic should renounce any talk about women, which exhilarates mind and inflames lust and other perversions. (2)
