[Ans.] Gautam ! During that period of time in the Bharat area of this Jambu continent there was a settlement called Baalaak (Palaashak). Description. In Baalaak city lived thirty three Shramanist (followers of
the Shraman religion or Jains) house holders who were mutually helpful फ (as mentioned about Chamarendra). These thirty three Shramanist
householders started as perfect (ugra) and rebirth-fearing (samvigna) in thought and conduct, and continued as Shramanists for many years, after which they emaciated their body by observing the ultimate vow (sallekhana) for a month missing sixty meals. In the end at the time of their death they serenely left their body after performing critical review
and atonement for their lapses. They have taken rebirth as the 41 Trayastrimshak gods of Shakrendra, the king of gods. Repeat all 41
following questions like 'Bhante! Does it mean that only since those thirty three friendly Shramanist house holders were born as Trayastrimshak gods of Shakrendra, the king of gods, it is said that Shakra, the king of gods has Trayastrimshak gods? and their answers as mentioned about Chamarendra... and so on up to... From existent material aspect (dravyarthik naya) they are eternal and (from paryayarthik naya or transformational aspect) they (the existing ones) descend (from their divine abode) and new ones are born.
११. [प्र.] अस्थि णं भंते ! ईसाणस्स०। 卐 [उ.] एवं जहा सक्कस्स, नवरं चंपाए नयरीए जाव उववन्ना। जप्पिभिई च णं ॐ भंते! चंपिच्चा तायत्तीसं सहाया० सेसं तं चेव जाव अन्ने उववज्जंति।
११. [प्र.] भगवन् ! क्या देवराज देवेन्द्र ईशान के त्रायस्त्रिंशक देव हैं? इत्यादि प्रश्न ।
[उ.] इस प्रश्न का उत्तर शक्रेन्द्र के समान है। इतना विशेष है कि ये तैंतीस ॐ श्रमणोपासक चम्पानगरी के निवासी थे, यावत् ईशानेन्द्र के त्रायस्त्रिंशक देव के रूप में
उत्पन्न हुए। (इसके पश्चात्) जब से ये चम्पानगरी निवासी तैंतीस परस्पर सहायक श्रमणोपासक त्रायस्त्रिंशक बनें, इत्यादि (प्रश्न और उसके उत्तर में) शेष समग्र वर्णन पूर्ववत् करना चाहिए, यावत् पुराने च्यवते हैं और नये (अन्य) उत्पन्न होते हैं, यहाँ तक कहना चाहिए।
11. (Q.) Bhante! Does Ishaan, the king of gods, has Trayastrimshak gods (ministers or priests) ?
