२. [प्र.] रायगिहे जाव एवं वयासी-किमियं भंते ! 'पाईणा' ति पवुच्चइ? [उ.] गोयमा ! जीवा चेव अजीवा चेव।
२. [प्र.] राजगृह नगर में गौतम स्वामी ने (श्रमण भगवान् महावीर स्वामी से) यावत् इस 卐 प्रकार पूछा-भगवन् ! यह पूर्व दिशा क्या कहलाती है?
[उ.] गौतम ! यह जीव रूप भी है और अजीव रूप भी है।
2. [Q.] In Rajagriha city... and so on up to... (Gautam Swami) asked (Bhagavan Mahavir) - Bhante ! What this East direction is called ?'
[Ans.] Gautam ! It is called living (jiva) as well as non-living (ajiva). ३. [प्र.] किमियं भंते ! 'पडीणा' ति पवुच्चइ? [उ.] गोयमा ! एवं चेव। ३. [प्र.] भगवन्! यह पश्चिम दिशा क्या कहलाती है? [उ.] गौतम! यह भी पूर्व दिशा के समान जानना चाहिए। 3. [Q.] Bhante ! What this West direction is called ? [Ans.] Gautam ! This too should be taken as the East direction. ४. एवं दाहिणा, एवं उदीणा एवं उड्ढा एवं अहो वि।
