१५. [ प्र. ] लोए णं भंते ! किं जीवा. ?
[3] जहा बिइयसए अत्थिउद्देसए लोयागासे नवरं अरूवी सत्तविहा जाव अधम्मत्थिकायस्स पसा, नो आगासत्थिकाए, आगासत्थिकायस्स देसे आगासत्थिकायस्स पएसा, अद्धासमए । सेसं तं चेव ।
१५. [प्र.] भगवन् ! क्या लोक में जीव हैं? इत्यादि प्रश्न ।
[उ.] गौतम ! जिस प्रकार दूसरे शतक के दसवें 'अस्ति' उद्देशक में लोकाकाश के विषय
में जीव आदि का कथन किया है, ( उसी प्रकार यहाँ भी जानना चाहिए।) विशेष इतना ही है कि
यहाँ अरूपी के सात भेद कहने चाहिए; यावत् अधर्मास्तिकाय के प्रदेश, आकाशास्तिकाय का देश, आकाशास्तिकाय के प्रदेश और अद्धा समय। शेष पूर्ववत् जानना चाहिए ।
15. [Q.] Bhante ! In the Lok are there souls, etc. ?
[Ans.] Gautam ! The answer is same as that mentioned in the tenth lesson titled Asti of the second chapter with regard to souls and other entities in Lokakash (Space within the Universe) with the exception that here seven types of formless entities should be mentioned... and so on up to... space-points of Adharmastikaya (Rest entity), sections of (Space entity), space-points of Akashastikaya ( Space entity)
Akashastikaya and Addha-samaya (time). Remaining being as mentioned earlier.
१६. [ प्र. ] अलोए णं भंते! किं जीवा. ?

एवं जहा अत्थिकायउद्देसए अलोगागासे तहेव निरवसेसं जाव अनंतभागूणे ।
१६. [प्र.] भगवन्! क्या अलोक में जीव हैं ? इत्यादि प्रश्न ।
[उ.] गौतम ! दूसरे शतक के दसवें अस्तिकाय उद्देशक में जिस प्रकार अलोकाकाश
के विषय में कहा, उसी प्रकार यहाँ भी जानना चाहिए; यावत् वह सर्वाकाश के अनन्तवें भाग न्यून है।
16. [Q.] Bhante ! In the Alok are there souls, etc. ?
[Ans.] Gautam ! The answer is same as that mentioned in the tenth lesson titled Astikaya of the second chapter with regard to Alokakash... and so on up to... and it is infinite parts less than the whole space (this is because Lokakash or occupied space is an infinite fraction of the whole space).
विवेचन - अधोलोक ओर तिर्यग्लोक में जीव, जीव के देश, प्रदेश तथा अजीव, अजीव के देश, प्रदेश और अद्धा - समय, ये ७ हैं, किन्तु ऊर्ध्वलोक में सूर्य के प्रकाश से प्रकटित काल न होने से
