5 करके शरीर पर (चंदनादि का लेप किया।) उसके बाद भोजन के समय भोजनमण्डप में उत्तम फ़ सुखासन पर बैठा और उन मित्र, ज्ञातिजन, स्वजन, यावत् परिजन, राजाओं और क्षत्रियों के साथ है
विपुल अशन, पान, खादिम और स्वादिम का भोजन करके तामली तापस (श. ३, उ. १ में है 卐 वर्णित वर्णन) के अनुसार, यावत् उनका सत्कार-सम्मान किया। तदनन्तर उन मित्र, ज्ञातिजन आदि 卐
सभी की तथा शिवभद्र राजा की अनुमति लेकर. लोढी-लोहकटाह, कुड़छी आदि बहुत से म तापसोचित भण्डोपकरण ग्रहण किये और गंगा नदी निवासी जो वानप्रस्थ तापस थे, वहाँ जाकर, 5
यावत् दिशाप्रोक्षक-तापस के रूप में प्रवजित हो गया। प्रव्रज्या ग्रहण करते ही शिवराजर्षि ने इस 卐 प्रकार का अभिग्रह धारण किया-आज से जीवन पर्यन्त मुझे बेले-बेले (छट्ठ-छट्ठ-तप) करते है
हुए विचरना कल्पनीय है; आदि उपर्युक्त (सू. ६ के अनुसार) यावत् अभिग्रह धारण करके प्रथम म छट्ठ (बेले का) तप अंगीकार करके विचरने लगा।

on his body etc. At meal-time he came to the dining area and took a 5 comfortable seat. Thereafter he sat to dine with those friends, kinfolk,
relatives, acquaintances, kings, warriors etc. and ate that ample ashan, #paan, khadya, svadya (staple food, liquids, general food, and savoury
food)... and so on up to... greeted and honoured them as described about Taamali Taapas (Chapter-3, Lesson-1). Having done that he took permission of those friends, relatives etc. and king Shivabhadra, collected
all utensils and equipments befitting a hermit, came to the world卐 renouncing hermits on the banks of river Ganges... and so on up to...
got initiated as Dishaprokshik hermit. Immediately after getting initiated saintly king Shiva resolved thus—I will observe a life long vow of continuous two day fasts etc.' (as mentioned in statement-6.)... and so on up to... after taking the resolve he commenced his first two-day fast and moved about.
