सात प्रकार के भय
मोहनीय कर्म की प्रकृति के उदय से उत्पन्न हुए आत्मा के परिणामविशेष को भय कहते हैं। इसके परिणामस्वरूप प्राणी डरने लगता है। भय के कारणों को भयस्थान कहते हैं वे सात हैं। भय की अवस्था वास्तविक घटना होने से पहले उसकी कल्पना से पैदा होती है। सात भयस्थान इस प्रकार हैं
1. इहलोक भय अपनी ही जाति के प्राणी से डरना इहलोक भय है जैसे मनुष्य का मनुष्य से, देव का देव से,
तिर्यंच का तिर्यंच से और नारकी का नारकी से डरना ।

2. परलोक भय- दूसरी जाति के जीवों से डरना परलोक भय है जैसे मनुष्य का देव से डरना परलोक भय है। 3. आदान भय-धन की रक्षा के लिए चोर आदि से भय
4. अकस्मात् भय- बिना किसी बाह्य कारण के अचानक अपने ही मानसिक विकल्पों से डर लगना अकस्मात् भय है।
5. आजीव भय - अपनी आजीविका के सम्बन्ध में भय ।
6. मरण भय - मृत्यु का भय।
7. अश्लोक अथवा अपयश भय-निन्दा या अपकीर्ति का भय ।
Seven Places of Fear
The acquired result of the soul that has been brought about from the rise of the Tendencies of delusion is called "Fear". The causes of the fear are called the places of the fear. Those are seven in numbers. The state of fear occurs in imagination well before it takes place in reality, the seven fears are as follows:
- समवाय 7, सूत्र 37
1. Fear of Ihloka: Fear from the creature of the same race is called Ihloka Bhay, i.e., the human beings from the human beings, the gods from gods, the animals from animals and the hellish beings from hellish beings.
2. Fear of the Par-loka: The fear of the other paces as: Fear to human beings from god is called Par-loka Fear.
3. Aadan Fear: The fear of thief for the protection of wealth.
4. Akasmat Fear Fear of his own mental ambiguity without any outside disturbances.
5. Ajeeva Fear: The fear of his own livelihood.
6. Maran Fear : The fear of death.
7. Ashloka or Apyosha Fear: The fear of blame and defamation.
