४४१-दाहिणभरहस्स णं धणुपिढे अट्ठाणउइ जोयणसयाई किंचूणाई आयामेणं पण्णत्ते।
दक्षिण भरतक्षेत्र का धनुःपृष्ठ अट्ठानवें सौ योजन से कुछ कम आयाम (लम्बाई) की अपेक्षा कहा गया है।

४४२-उत्तराओ कट्ठाओ सूरिए पढम छम्मासं अयमाणे एगणपन्नासतिमे मंडलगते । अट्ठाणउइ एकसट्ठिभागे मुहुत्तस्स दिवसखेत्तस्स निवुड्ढेत्ता रयणिखेत्तस्स अभिनिवुड्डित्ता णं सूरिए चारं चरइ। दक्खिणाओ णं कट्ठाओ सूरिए दोच्चं छम्मासं अयमाणे एगूणपन्नासइमे मंडलगते । अट्ठाणउइ एकसट्ठिभाए मुहुत्तस्स रयणिखित्तस्स निवुड्डत्ता दिवसखेत्तस्स अभिनिवुड्डत्ता णं सूरिए । चारं चरइ।
उत्तर दिशा से सूर्य प्रथम छह मास दक्षिण की ओर आता हुआ उनपचासवें मण्डल के ऊपर आकर मुहूर्त के इकसठिए अट्ठानवें भाग दिवसक्षेत्र (दिन) के घटकर और रजनीक्षेत्र (रात) के बढ़ाकर । संचार करता है। इसी प्रकार दक्षिण दिशा से सूर्य दूसरे छह मास उत्तर की ओर जाता हुआ उनपचांसवें मंडल के ऊपर आकर मुहूर्त के अट्ठानवें इकसठ भाग रजनी क्षेत्र (रात) के घटाकर और दिवस क्षेत्र (दिन) के बढ़ाकर संचार करता है।
Coming towards south from the direction of North, first six months the sun coming over the fiftieth orbit moves decreasing the length of the day and increasing the length of the night area equal to sixty one part out of ninety eight parts of a muhurat. In the same way in the second six months going from south directions towards north directions coming over the fiftieth mandal the Sun moves decreasing the length night and increasing the length of the day equal to sixty one parts out of ninety eight parts of one muhurat.
४४३-रेवई-पढमजेट्ठापज्जवसाणाणं एगूणवीसाए नक्खत्ताणं अट्ठाणउइ ताराओ तारग्गेणं पण्णत्ताओ।
