तेतीस आशातना सूत्र
सम्यग्दर्शन आदि गणों का घात करने वाली अविनयपर्ण क्रियाओं को आशातना कहते हैं। वस्ततः विनय की नींव पर ही धर्म का प्रासाद (महल) खड़ा होता है। विनय के अभाव में सभी धर्म क्रियाएं व्यर्थ हैं।
शैक्ष (छोटी दीक्षा वाले साधु) को रत्नाधिक या रात्निक (बड़ी दीक्षा वाले साधु या गुरु) की विनय भक्ति करनी चाहिए। यही उसके लिए शास्त्रों का आदेश और मोक्ष का मार्ग है।
सूत्र सं. 215 में तेतीस आशातनाओं का वर्णन है। सुज्ञ शैक्ष मुनि को रात्निक के प्रति उक्त विपरीत व्यवहारों में सदैव सावधान रहना चाहिए।

Thirty Three Asatana Sutra The activities performed stunbornly, destroying the attributions of right perception etc. are called 'Asatana'. Virtually, the palace of spirituality : is erected on the foundation of submissiveness. Without humility all the religious activities are baseless.
The newly initiated monk must serve his elder, senior and learned ascetics. This one is the advice of scriptures and is the way to liberation.
33 Asatana are narrated in sutra no. 215. The humbles newly consecrated monk should always be careful in not performing there activities towards his senior ascetics.
