का महान तीर्थ माना जाता था । वहाँ पर तीर्थंकरों की ३६० मूर्तियाँ स्थापित थी । ऐसी मान्यता है कि यहाँ पर जो ऋषभदेव की मूर्ति थी वह सीरिया से लायी गयी थी । इन ३६० मूर्तियों को मोहम्मद साहब ने खंडित कर चकनाचूर कर दिया था | When order had been restored in the city Mohammed himself at the temple. काबा के महत्त्व का कुरान में भी वर्णन है । इसे ईश्वर का प्रथम घर कहा गया है । ब्राह्मण पुराणों एवं जैन साहित्य के अनुसार नाभि राजा तथा आदि तीर्थंकर ऋषभदेव के समय अयोध्या नगरी का निर्माण किया गया था | आज जितने भी ऐतिहासिक प्रमाण काबा की प्राचीनता के मिलते हैं इससे क्या यह सिद्ध नहीं होता कि मक्का ही प्राचीनतम अयोध्या नगरियों में से है ?
