इस पत्र में, आ. हीरविजयसूरिजी ने अकबर बादशाह को प्रतिबोध दिया और जीवहिंसा वगैरह बंद करायी,' उसका स्पष्ट उल्लेख किया है और लिखा है कि वर्तमान में आपके जैसा उद्योतकारी (प्रभावक) दिखता नहीं है।
अलबदाउनी का बयान हीरविजयसूरि आदि जैन साधुओं का उपदेश कितने महत्त्व का था, इस महत्त्व को बदाउनी भी स्वीकार करता है
"And Samanas' and Brahmans (who as far as the matter of private interviews is concerned (P. 257) gained the advantage over everyone in attaining the honour of interviews with His Majesty, and in associating with him, and were in every way superior in reputation to all learned and trained men for their treatises on morals and on physical and stages of spiritual progress and human perfections) brought forward proofs, based on reason and traditional testimony, for the truth of their own, and the fallacy of our religion, and inculcated their doctrine with such firmness and assurance, that they affirmed mere imagination as though they were self evident facts, the truth of which the doubts of the secptic could no more shake."2
___ 1. मूल फ़ारसी पुस्तक को सेवड़ा' शब्द के अनुवादक ने 'श्रमण' लिखा है, परंतु चाहिये 'सेवड़ा'; क्योंकि उस समय में जैन श्वेतांबर साधुओं को सेवड़ा के नाम से लोग पहचानते थे। उस समय पंजाब आदि प्रदेशों में जैन साधुओं को सेवड़ा कहते थे। इस अंग्रेजी अनुवाद W. H. Lowe M.A. (डब्ल्यू एच लाँ एम. ए) इस अपने अनुवाद के नोट में श्रमण का अर्थ बौद्धश्रमण करता है पर यह ठीक नहीं है। क्योंकि बौद्धश्रमण बादशाह के दरबार में कोई गया ही नहीं था। इस बात का अधिक स्पष्टीकरण हम आगे करेंगे। यह सेवड़ा में श्वेतांबर जैन साधु को ही समझना चाहिए। 2.
