On the basis of a citation from Tāranātha's History of Tibetan Buddhism, one Sādhana (No. 159) and the Gūhyasamājatantra are also ascribed to Aryāsangapdā. But his relations to the Tantric Buddhism are yet doubtful and hence the ascription of Tantric works to him is spurious.
Probable date of Asanga : The problem of the date of Asanga is closely connected with that of his brother Vasubandhu as the biogrophies and other records speak of Vasubandhu in more express terms. Several attempts have been made to fix up the date of Vasubandhu and with him of Asanga, but the divergence of
