इंद्र द्वारा शक्रस्तव से स्तुति
योगशास्त्र प्रथम प्रकाश श्लोक १-२ थे। ऐसे समभावी वीर प्रभु को मेरा नमस्कार हो। भगवान् महावीर के समभाव को उनके जीवन की घटनाओं से समझाते हैंविविध परिस्थितियों में महावीर की समता :
पवित्रात्मा महावीरदेव पूर्वजन्म में उपार्जित तीर्थकर नामकर्म के कारण प्राणत नामक देवलोक के पुष्पोत्तर विमान से च्यव कर सरोवर में राजहंस की तरह सिद्धार्थ राजा के यहाँ तीन ज्ञान से युक्त होकर आये और महारानी त्रिशलादेवी की कुक्षि में उत्पन्न हुए।
उस समय उत्तम गर्भ के प्रभाव से त्रिशलादेवी ने १. सिंह, २. हाथी, ३. वृषभ, ४. अभिषेकयुक्त लक्ष्मीदेवी, ५. पुष्पमाला, ६. चन्द्र, ७. सूर्य, ८. इन्द्रध्वजा, ९. पूर्णकुंभ, १०. पद्मसरोवर, ११. समुद्र, १२. देवविमान, १३. रत्नराशि और १४. निर्धूम अग्नि; इन १४ महास्वप्नों को क्रमशः देखा। उसके बाद उत्तम योगों से युक्त दिन को तीन जगत् में उद्योत करने वाले, देव और दानव के आसन को कंपित करने वाले व नारकी व तिर्यंच गति के जीवों को भी क्षणभर सुखमय बनाने वाले, प्रभु का सुखकारक जन्म हुआ।
उस समय छप्पन दिक्कुमारियों ने सूतिकाकर्म किया। तत्पश्चात् सौधर्मेन्द्र जन्माभिषेक करने के लिए मेरुपर्वत के शिखर पर ले गये। जगद्गुरु प्रभु को गोद में लेकर वे सिंहासन पर बैठे। उस समय भक्ति से कोमलहृदय वाले इन्द्र को शंका हुई कि इतने पानी का भार स्वामी किस तरह सहन कर सकेंगे? इस शंका को दूर करने के लिए प्रभु ने दाहिने पैर के अंगूठे से सहजभाव से ज्यों ही मेरुपर्वत को दबाया, त्यों ही उसके शिखर इस प्रकार झुकने लगे, मानो प्रभु को नमस्कार करते हों। अथवा वे सब पर्वत इस तरह चलायमान हो गये, मानो भगवान् के पास आना चाहते हों। समुद्र इस प्रकार उछलने लगा, मानो स्नात्र-महोत्सव करना चाहता हो। पृथ्वी एकाएक ऐसे कांपने लगी, मानो नृत्य करने की तैयारी कर रही हो।
'अरे, यह क्या हुआ?' यों विचार करते ही इन्द्र ने अवधिज्ञान प्रयुक्त करके भगवान् के शरीरबल की अपेक्षा आत्मबल का सामर्थ्य जानकर प्रभु से कहा-"स्वामिन्! मुझ-सा मामूली व्यक्ति आपके इस महान् प्रभाव को कैसे जान सकता है? अतः मैंने जो विपरीत विचार किया उसके लिए क्षमा चाहता हूँ।" यों कहकर उसने प्रभु को नमस्कार किया। फिर आनंदपूर्वक बाजे बजने लगे। इधर सभी इन्द्रों ने मिलकर पवित्र तीर्थों के सुगंधित जल से प्रभु का अभिषेकमहोत्सव किया। उस अभिषेक-जल को देवों ने, असुरों तथा भवनपतिदेवों ने बार-बार शिरोधार्य किया और सभी पर उसे छींटा। प्रभु के स्नात्रजल से स्पृष्ट मिट्टी भी वंदनीय बन गयी; क्योंकि महापुरुषों की संगति से छोटा व्यक्ति भी गौरव प्राप्त कर लेता है। तत्पश्चात् सौधर्मेन्द्र ने प्रभु को ईशानेन्द्र की गोद में बिठाकर (वृषभ रूप कर) पक्षाल कराया और उनकी अष्टप्रकारी पूजा करके आरती उतारकर स्तुति की।
हे (भावी) अरिहंत भगवन्! स्वयंबुद्ध, ब्रह्मा, तीर्थकर, धर्म की आदि करने वाले, सर्व पुरुषों में उत्तम आपको नमस्कार हो। हे लोक-प्रकाशक, लोकोद्योत करने वाले, लोक में उत्तम, लोक के स्वामी, विश्व के जीवों का हित करने वाले, आपको नमस्कार हो। पुरुषों में श्रेष्ठ, पुंडरीक कमल के समान सुख देने वाले, पुरुषों में सिंह के समान, पुरुषों में अद्वितीय गंधहस्ती के समान प्रभो! आपको नमस्कार हो। श्रुतज्ञान रूपी चक्षु के दाता। भयरहित करने वाले! सम्यक्त्व देने वाले, मोक्षमार्ग बताने वाले, धर्म को देने वाले, धर्म का उपदेश करने वाले, भयभीत जीवों को शरण देने वाले आपको नमस्कार हो। हे धर्म के सारथी! धर्म की प्रेरणा देने वाले, धर्म के श्रेष्ठ चक्रवर्ती, छद्मस्थता से रहित, सम्यग्-ज्ञान-दर्शनधारक, रागादि शत्रुवर्ग को जीतने वाले और दूसरे जीवों को जिताने वाले, संसार रूपी समुद्र से तरने वाले और अन्य जीवों को तारने वाले, स्वयं कर्मपाश से मुक्त और दूसरों को मुक्त करने वाले, स्वयं बोध पाये हुए और दूसरों को बोधित करने वाले आपको नमस्कार हो। हे सर्वज्ञ! हे स्वामिन! सब पदार्थों को जानने एवं देखने वाले अतिशय के अधिकारी, आठ कर्मों को चूर्ण करने वाले, हे भगवन्! आपको नमस्कार हो। उत्तम पुण्यबीज बोने के लिए क्षेत्र रूपी, उत्तमपात्र, तीर्थ, परमात्मा, स्याद्वाद के प्ररूपक, वीतरागमुने! आपको मेरा नमस्कार हो। पूज्यों के भी 1. त्रि.श.पु. चरित्र में देवानंदा की कुक्षी से त्रिशला की कुक्षी में आने का वर्णन है। यहां संक्षिप्त वर्णन होने से ऐसा लिखा है। - संपादक
