Moreover, Jayanta urges that the discussion whether there is pleasure or not in apavarga is irrelevant, since the state of apavarga is one of resting in one's own nature, i. e., atman. By nature, atman is not bliss at all. He derives pleasure from enjoyment of the various objects presented by the senses. His original nature is inert.
