देवों का पद स्थान
'त्रिसप्तांशे कृते माने ब्रह्मांशे सूत्रमध्यमे। कृत्वा षडंशकं तच्च वामे यंशं व्यपोह्य च ॥१॥ तन्मानमग्रतो नीत्वा प्रागुदग्गतसूत्रकम् ।

गर्भ गृह का एकबीस भाग करना। इसमें मध्य का ब्रह्मांश (ब्रह्मसूत्र) कहा जाता है। इस का फिर छ: भाग करना। इन छ: भागों में से बाँयी तरफ के दो भाग छोड़ देनां, उतने ही. मान का आगे का जो भाग है, उसमें पूर्व और उत्तर तरफ गये हुए सूत्र को ब्रह्मसूत्र कहते हैं, यही शिवसूत्र है, उसमें शिवलिंग स्थापित किया जाता है ॥१, २ ॥
