163 Here are the descriptions of Siva-lingas. The eight metals which may be used for Siva-lingas are gold, silver, copper, bell-metal, brass, tin, lead and iron. These are the ashtha-lohani. (60).
धातुलिङ्ग का मान
एकांगुलाद् धातुमयं यावदष्टागुंलोदयम्। एकैकस्यागुलस्याष्टौ लिङ्गान्यष्टौ तत: पुन:॥ ६१ ॥
एक अङ्गुल से आठ अङ्गुल तक ऊँचाई वाले धातु का शिवलिङ्ग बनाना । अर्थात् एक २ अङ्गुल की ऊँचाई के सोना आदि आठों ही धातु के, दो २ अङ्गुल की. ऊँचाई के आठ धातु के, इस प्रकार आठ. २ अङ्गल की ऊँचाई के आठों ही धातु के शिवलिङ्ग बनाना। .
Siva-lingas made of metal should be between one angula to eight angulas in height. Make lingas of one angula from any of the eight metals, (of two angulas from two metals) and so forth, up to eight angulas from the eight metal alloy. (61). धातु लिङ्ग के नाम
मनोहरं श्रीमुखं च रुद्रतेजो महोत्सवम् । आनन्दं च सुवस्त्रास्यं स्त्रीपुजं नन्दिवर्द्धनम् ॥ ६२ ॥
मनोहर, श्रीमुख, रुद्रतेज, महोत्सव, आनन्द, सुवस्त्रास्य, स्त्रीपुंज और नंदिवर्द्धन ये धातु लिङ्ग के आठ नाम हैं। अर्थात् एक अंगुल की ऊँचाई वाला मनोहर और दो अंगुल की ऊंचाई वाला श्रीमुख ।
The names of. Siva-lingas made of metal are Manohar, Shrimukha, Rudrateja, Mahotsav, Anand, Suvastrasya, Stripunj and Nandivardhan. (By implication, Manohar is the name for a metal linga of one angula, Shrimukha for a two angula linga, and so on).(62)..
