देवतामूर्ति-प्रकरणम् सावित्री देवी की मूर्ति के चारों हाथों में क्रम से अक्षमाला, पुस्तक, कमल और कमण्डलु को धारण करने वाली और चार मुख वाली है। यह श्रोत्रियों अर्थात् वेद पाठकों के घर हितकारक है।
The goddess Savitri holds a string of prayer-bcads, a book, a lotus and a kamandalu in her four hands. She has four heads. Savitri bestows benevolence on the homes of those versed in the Vedas/ sacred scriptures. (8).
ऋग्वेद
ऋग्वेद: श्वेतवर्ण: स्यात् द्विभुजो रासभाननः। ..
अक्षमालाम्बुपात्रे च श्रितश्चाध्ययने रतः ॥९॥ .
ऋग्वेद सफेद वर्ण वाला, दो भुजा वाला, गर्दभ का मुख वाला, हाथ में अक्षमाला और कमण्डलु को धारण करने वाला तथा स्वाध्याय ध्यान में रहने वाला है।
___Rig-Veda is depicted as being white. in colour, with two arms, and the face of a donkey (or ass, a rasabh), and holding a string of prayer-beads and a kamandalu. Rig-Veda is in a state of perpetual meditation and self-study. (9).
यजुर्वेद
अजास्य: पीतवर्णः स्याद् यजुर्वेदोऽक्षसूत्रधृक् । वामे चांकुशपाणिस्तु भूतिदो मंगलप्रदः ॥१०॥
बकरे के जैसा मुख वाला, पीले वर्ण का, दाहिने हाथ में अक्षमाला और बाँये हाथ में अङ्कुश को धारण करने वाला यजुर्वेद है, वह ऐश्वर्य को देने वाला और मंगल करने वाला है।
Yajur-Veda has the face of a goat, and holds a string of prayer-beads in the right hand and a goad in the left. Yajur-Veda is yellow in colour, and bestows good fortune and auspiciousness. (10).
