उववाइय सुत्तं सू० ३४ वहाँ आई। वहाँ आकर श्रमण प्रभु महावीर के सम्मुख जाने हेतु पाच प्रकार के अभिगम-नियम ग्रहण किये। जो इस प्रकार हैं। (१) सचित्त-सजीव पदार्थों का व्युत्सर्जन, अलग करना। (२) अचित्तअजीव पदार्थों का अव्युत्सर्जन-अलग न करना। (३) विनय से देह को नम्र करना। (४) धर्म नायक के चक्षुस्पर्श-दृष्टि पड़ते ही हाथ जोड़ना । (५) मन को एकाग्र करना। इस प्रकार से श्रमण भगवान् महावीर को तीन बार आदक्षिणा-प्रदक्षिणा की। वन्दना की। नमस्कार किया। वैसा कर-वन्दना-नमस्कार कर वे अपने पति राजा कूणिक को आगे कर परिवार सहित भगवान् महावीर के सम्मुख विनयपूर्वक-हाथ जोड़े हुए पर्युपासना-सान्निध्यलाभ लेने लगीं ॥३३॥
They being surrounded by their attendants came in the august presence of Bhagavān Mahāvīra and having fulfilled the conditions, they stood before him. They discarded live objects, they embressed non-live objects, they bent their bodies in humility, they folded their palms as soon as his eyes fell on them, and they engrossed their minds in concentration. Then they moved round Bhagavān Mahāvira thrice and paid their homage and obeisance. With king Kūņika at their fore, the whole family (including the ladies in attendance ) turned their faces towards Bhagavān Mahāvira and worshipped him with their hands folded in deep reverence. 33
