Uvavaiya Suttam Sh. 31 णाणं मुहभंडगउच्चूलगथासगअहिलाण चामरगंडपरिमंडियकडीणं किंकरवरतरुणपरिग्गहियाणं अट्ठसयं वरतुरगाणं पुरओ अहाणुपुव्वोए संपट्ठियं ।
___ उसके बाद जात्य-उच्च जाति के ऊँची नसल के घोड़े थे जो वेग, शक्ति, स्फूर्तिमय, और यौवन वय में स्थित थे। उन घोड़े के विशेष अलंकार, अभिलान -मुखबन्ध-मुख संयमन लगाम या मोरे ( मोहरे ) बड़े ही सुन्दर दिखाई देते थे। उनके कटिभाग चामर दण्ड से सुशोभित थे। ऐसे एक सौ आठ घोड़े यथाक्रम आगे रवाना किये गये। हरिमेला ( वनस्पति विशेष ) की नव कलिका और मल्लिका-सी उनकी आँखे थींसफेद आँखे थी। उनकी चाल बाँकी, विलासयुक्त ( ललित ) और कोतल ( पुलित )-नृत्यमय थी, उनके अस्थि शरीर की चपलता से चंचल थी और लांघने, कूदने, दौड़ने, गतिकी चतुराई, त्रिपदी (चलते हुए भूमि पर, तीन पैरों का ही टिकना ), जय या वग से युक्त और शिक्षित थी। उनके गले में हिलते हुए रम्य श्रेष्ठ भूषण पड़े हुए थे। विमुखमंडक-मुख का भूषण मोरा आदि, अवचूल-लम्बे गुच्छक, स्थासक, पलाण से युक्त और चामरदंड से सजी हुई कटिवाले थे। उन्हें श्रेष्ठ तरूण किंकरों ने थाम रखे थे।
These were followed by many fine steeds, youthful, decorated with an ornament called sthāsaka, with bridles to control their movement, and with their waist decorated with cāmara, 108 in all. Their eyes looked like the fresh bud of harimela or like mallika flower. Their pace was curved, gentle and dancing. Their bones were restless due to the movements of their body, slowly pacing, jumping, running, galloping, by the skill of their movement, tripadi or touching the ground with three legs only, gifted with victory and speed. These horses were all trained. Beautiful and dangling ornaments decorated their necks. They had beautiful ornaments on their face. Similarly they had sundry ornaments on their waist such as avacūla, sthāsaka, palāna etc., with a câmara-like tail added. All of them were attended by trained, young and best horsemen.
