हटाकर वाहनों को अलंकृत--सुसज्जित किया। सुसज्जित कर उन्हें उत्तम आभूषणों से विभूषित किया। विभूषित कर उन्हें यानो में गाड़ियों, रथों आदि में जोता। जोतकर प्रतोत्रयष्टिकाएँ–गाड़ी, रथ आदि को हाँकने की लकड़ियाँ अथवा चाबुक, और प्रतोत्रधर-गाड़ीवानों को साथ में नियुक्त किया। वैसा कर, जुते हुए यानों को राजमार्ग पकड़वाया अर्थात् गाड़ीवान् उसके आदेश के अनुसार यानों को राजमार्ग पर लाये। वैसा कार्य करवा कर वह, जहाँ सेनानायक था, वहाँ आया। आकर सेनानायक को आज्ञा की अनुपालना कि जा चुकने की सूचना दी।

तए णं से बलवाउए · णयरगुत्तिए आमंतेइ । आमंतेत्ता एवं वयासो-खिप्पामेव भो देवाणुप्पिया ! चंपं णरि सब्भिंतरबाहिरियं आसित्त जाव...कारवेत्ता एअमाणत्तिअं पच्चप्पिणाहि। .
तदनन्तर सेनानायक ने नगरगुप्तिक-नगर रक्षक या कोतवाल' को बुलाया। बुलाकर इस प्रकार कहा-“हे देवानुप्रिय ! शीघ्र ही चम्पा नगरी के भीतर और बाहर पानी का छिड़काव कराओ-स्वच्छ कराओ... यावत् यह सब करवाकर आज्ञा-पालन किये जा चुकने की सूचना दो।"
