-स्वर के द्वारा (चम्पा) नगरी को लहराते-गरजते विशाल समुद्र के समान बनाते हुए चम्पानगरी के बीचों-बीच से गुजरे। वैसा कर ( निकल कर ) जहाँ पूर्णभद्र चैत्य था, वहाँ आये ।
Some sat on horse back: some on elephants, some on chariots, palanquins, syandamānikās, some walked down on feet, surrounded by many other pedestrians all around, shouting, roaring, gossiping, filling the city.of Campā with a great noise, a great commotion, giving it the look of a mighty ocean, all topsy turvy. They passed through the heart of the city of Campā and moved in the direction of Purņabhadra Cailya.
उवागच्छित्ता समणस्स. भगवओ महावीरस्स अदूरसामंते छत्ताईए तित्थयराइसेसे पासंति । पासित्ता जाण-वाहणाइं ठावइंति । ठावइत्ता जाण-वाहणेहितो पच्चोरुहंति । पच्चोरुहित्ता जेणेव : समणे भगवं महावीरे तेणेव उवागच्छंति ।
- वैसा कर-आकर न अधिक दूर से और न अधिक निकट से श्रमण भगवान महावीर के तीर्थ कर रूप के वैशिष्ट्य--प्रतीक या परिचय देनेवाली छत्र आदि अतिशय-विशेषताएँ-चिन्ह उपकरण, देखीं। देखते ही यानगाड़ी, रथ आदि और वाहन-घोड़े, हाथी, बैल आदि को वहाँ ठहराये । ठहराकर यानं एवं वाहन से नीचे उतरे। नीचे उतरकर जहाँ श्रमण भगवान् महावीर थे, या विराजित थे, वहाँ आये।
When they reached the vicinity of Bhagavān Mahāvīra, some of the supernaturals attending a Tirtharikara, such as umbrella, etc., came to their sight. Having seen them, they stopped their vehicles and alighted therefrom and came to the spot where Bhagavān Mahāvira was seated.
