[ sphere of time ] प्रश्न ५२-किमिदं भंते ! समयखेत्ते ति पवुच्चइ ?
उत्तर ५२-गोयमा! अड्ढाइज्जा दीवा दो य समुद्दा एस णं एवइए समयखेत्तेत्ति पवुच्चइ तत्थ णं अयं जंबुददीवे दीवे सव्वदीव-समुदाणं सव्वभंतरे एवं जीवाभिगमवत्तव्वया नेयव्वा जाव...अभितरं पुक्खरद्धं जोइसविहणं ।
Q. 52. Bhante ! What is the sphere of time ( i. e., where time is effective)?
A. 52. Gautama ! 21 islands (continents) and 2 oceans ---these are stated to be the sphere of time. Of these, this island named Jambu-dvipa is at the centre of all islands and oceans. The whole description is to be reproduced from the Jivābhigama Sūtra40,...till the interior of half of Puşkara, but the description of the Jyotiskas is to be excluded.
