લગ્નસંસ્થાનું ભાવિ
બીજા વિશ્વયુદ્ધ પછી દુનિયામાં લગ્નવિચ્છેદ કે છૂટાછેડાનું પ્રમાણ ઉત્તરોત્તર વધતું ચાલ્યું છે. આડા વ્યવહારો માટે વધતી જતી સગવડો અને ઘટતી જતી લોકનિંદાને કારણે સ્ત્રી કે પુરુષના લગ્નબાહ્ય સંબંધોનું પ્રમાણ પણ વધતું જાય છે. સજાતીય સંબંધોની ફેશન પાશ્ચાત્ય દેશોમાં વધવા લાગી છે. (જેને કારણે એઈડ્રેસ AIDS - નામના રોગે જગતને ચોંકાવી દીધું છે.) મૈત્રી કરારો થવા લાગ્યા છે. ટેસ્ટ-ટ્યુબમાં બાળકોની ઉત્પત્તિ શરૂ થઈ ગઈ છે. લગ્નબંધનરહિત મુક્ત પ્રેમનો પ્રચાર વધતો જાય છે.
- ભારત પાછાં ફરતાં પહેલાં મુક્ત પ્રેમમાં માનનાર રજનીશે અમેરિકામાં પોતાનાં સંન્યાસીઓને કહ્યું હતું :
We will work, we will do things, but that does not mean that you don't have any time to dance and sing and compose music and love your woman or somebody else's woman.
If you don't have much time left for yourself, you can at the most love your own woman. To love somebody else's woman takes longer time - to persuade her, to talk all kinds of nonsense. But it is perfectly good just for change - good for you, good for other man's woman, good for the other man, because he will be having a chance with somebody else also.
