पर गलत अभियोग भी लगा सकती है। पुरानी धात्री यह सोच सकती है कि अभिनव धात्री की भांति यह मुनि कभी मेरे जीवन में भी विघ्न उपस्थित कर सकता है अतः वह साधु को मारने के लिए विष आदि का प्रयोग भी कर सकती है।
इसी प्रकार ग्रंथकार ने मज्जनधात्री आदि शेष चार धात्रियों के बारे में विस्तार से मनोवैज्ञानिक वर्णन किया है। यह सारा वर्णन उस समय की सांस्कृतिक स्थिति का तो चित्रण करता ही है, साथ ही आयुर्वेद की दृष्टि से भी पूरा प्रसंग अत्यन्त महत्त्वपूर्ण है। धात्रीपिंड को स्पष्ट करने के लिए ग्रंथकार ने संगम आचार्य और दत्त शिष्य के कथानक को निरूपित किया है।
२. दूती दोष
दौत्य कर्म द्वारा एक व्यक्ति के संदेश को दूसरे स्थान तक संप्रेषित करके भिक्षा प्राप्त करना दूती दोष है। मूलाचार के अनुसार जल, स्थल या आकाश मार्ग से स्वग्राम या परग्राम में जाकर सम्बन्धित व्यक्ति के संदेश को कहकर आहार प्राप्त करना दूतीदोष है। टीकाकार ने पुल्लिंग के आधार पर दूत दोष मानकर इसकी व्याख्या की है। दौत्य कर्म दो प्रकार का होता है-स्वग्राम विषयक और परग्राम विषयक। जिस गांव में साधु रहता है, उसी गांव में संदेश पहुंचाना स्वग्राम विषयक दूतीत्व है तथा निकट के दूसरे गांव में जाकर संदेश देना परग्राम विषयक दूतीत्व है। इन दोनों के भी दो-दो भेद हैं-प्रच्छन्न और प्रकट । लोकोत्तर में प्रच्छन्न दूतीत्व ही होता है। लौकिक में प्रच्छन्न और प्रकट दोनों प्रकार का दौत्यकर्म चलता है।
भिक्षार्थ जाते हुए मुनि स्वग्राम या परग्राम में यदि जननी, पिता आदि का संदेश ले जाता है कि तुम्हारी माता ने या तुम्हारे पिता ने ऐसा कहा है, यह स्वग्राम और परग्राम विषयक प्रकट दूतीत्व है। साथ वाले दूसरे मुनि को ज्ञात न हो इसलिए मुनि सांकेतिक भाषा में यह कहता है कि तुम्हारी पुत्री चतुर नहीं है, परम्परा से अजान है, तभी उसने मुझे ऐसा कहा है कि मेरी मां को यह संदेश दे देना। उस समय मां भी कुशलतापूर्वक उत्तर देती है कि मैं अपनी पुत्री को समझा दूंगी। आगे से वह ऐसा संदेश नहीं देगी, यह स्वग्राम-परग्राम विषयक लोकोत्तर प्रच्छन्न दूतीत्व है। स्वग्राम में या परग्राम में इस प्रकार संदेश पहुंचाना, जिससे न लोगों को ज्ञात हो और न साथ वाले मुनि को, यह स्वग्राम विषयक लोकलोकोत्तर विषयक प्रच्छन्न दूतीत्व है। उदाहरण स्वरूप यह कहना कि विवक्षित कार्य तुम्हारी इच्छा के अनुसार सम्पन्न हो गया है अथवा जैसा वे चाहेंगे वैसा ही करूंगी। नियुक्तिकार ने प्रकट परग्रामदूती के प्रसंग में एक मार्मिक कथा का संकेत किया है, जो मुनि द्वारा किए गए दौत्यकर्म से होने वाली हानि का सुंदर चित्र प्रस्तुत करती है।
