डेर is डित् by 'चुटू'।१।३।७॥ of Panini (the initial चवर्ग and टवर्ग of sufixes are इत् ), whose help is to be taken by 'अनुक्तमन्यशब्दानुशासनवत् ॥ १।१।२॥p. 9, and is thus equal to एर. We have thus ब्रह्मच + एर. Now ब्रह्मच is भसंज्ञक by 'यचि भम् ॥१।४।१८ ॥ of Panini, and by 'टे:॥६।४ । १४३ ॥ of Panini the टि of ब्रह्मच is dropped, when followed by डेर which is डित्. टि means the final vowel or the final consonant with the preceding vowel. It is defined by Pâņini as · 'अचोन्त्यादि टि' ॥१।१।६४ ॥. We have accordingly ब्रह्मच + एर. र् is dropped by 'लवरामधश्च' and . we have बह्मचू + एर. Now म is changed to म्ह by 'श्मष्मस्सलामस्मररश्मौ म्हः ॥ १।४।६७॥ p. 42. So finally we get बम्हचेरं. ब्रह्मचर्यम्बम्हचेरं । सौन्दर्यम्-सोन्देरं (औ being changed to ओ by 'ऐच ए ॥१।२।१०१॥)। आश्चर्यम्-अच्छेरं । (श्च being changed to छ by 'थ्यश्चत्सप्सामनिश्चले' ॥१। ४ । २३ ॥, छ being doubled by 'शेषादेशस्या होचोखोः॥१।४। ८६ ॥, the first छु being changed to च by 'पूर्वमुपरि वर्गस्य युजः' ॥१। ४ । ९४ ॥, and आ being shortened by 'संयोगे' ॥१।२।४०॥). These three words come under the rain class and we have consequently one more form-बह्मचरिअं। सुंदरिअं। अच्छरिअं Vide pp. 49.50. वा पर्यन्ते ॥ १।४।५८ ॥ p. 40In 947 of is optionally changed to it. When it is not changed to डेर, it is changed to ज by 'धय्यर्या जः॥१४। २४ ॥ p. 35पर्यन्तः-परन्तो ( + एर+न्तो)-पज्जन्तो। धैर्यम् is changed to धीरं or धिज्जं by the Sutra 'धैर्य र ॥१।४ । ५९ by which l in धैर्य is changed to र optionally and s is lengthened by 'ई धैर्ये ॥ १।२। १०९ and by 'द्यव्ययाँ जा' which applies when 2 is not changed to र. तूर्यदशाहशौण्डीयें ॥ १।४।६० ॥p. 41In these words the conjunct consonant is changed to a तूर्यम्-तूरं । दशाह:-दसारो । शौण्डीर्यम्-सोंडीरं । बाष्पे होश्रुणि ॥१।४ । ६१॥ p. 419169 in the sense of a tear changes its conjunct consonant to हू.
