#frente: '--This means that the Genitive is sometimes used in the sense of the Accusativo. BAT - or terminations of the Dat. are changed to 57, terminations of the Gen. Another Sûtra artezie SET' teaches the optional use of the Gen. in place of argezza4f or the Dat. in the sense of purpose; and the Sûtra 'quigit q' teaches that in the case of the word ay, BTis optionally substituted for the Dat. termination in the sense of the Genitive. 'feate This Satra teaches the use of the Acc. in place of the Loc. A question is raised that if the Prakrita has no dual, how is it that the author has used the dual number in the Sûtra 'GHTETHITET .' The solution is that here ' UTYAT:' and 'अवहहेटौ' signify of the words उभय and अधसू' and
the words start and . These words are used as words and do not convey their usual sense. Pâņini also uses the form एकाद् in the Sutra 'एकादा किनिच्चासहाये in place of GFIETS, because gata does not signify 'one' or 'principal' and is not consequently a pronoun. Thus in the Sûtras 1993:', '37 E' &c. अच् , ऐच , एङ् &c. are to be understood as प्रत्याहार's as in Pâņini's grammar. A doubt is then raised that if this be the case we would assume the Prâkrita form qot instead of the correct form avi; for the Sûtrasata' teaches the substitution of 37 for and by Pâņini's Sûtra 'TUT TYT:' 37 must be changed to 317. The answer to this objection is that. Eh' which is the seventeenth Sûtra of the first Pâda of the first Adhyâya, being an ofert Sûtra having its power throughout the work, prevents the application of the Satras from other works on grammar when they come in conflict with correct forms as found in the language.
Sy is explained in the following verse and is of four kinds:-(1) sometimes the Sûtras are applicable; (2) some
