पद्मपुराणे
ततोऽध गदतः स्पष्टं घोतयन्ती दिशो दश । जयेति जनितालापा तस्य विद्या पुरः स्थिता ॥५॥ जगौ च देव सिद्धाऽहं तवाज्ञाकरणोद्यता । नियोगो दीयतां नाथ साध्यः सकलविष्टपे ॥८६॥ एक चक्रधरं मुक्त्वा प्रतिकूलमवस्थितम् । वशीकरोमि ते लोकं भवदिच्छानुवर्तिनी ॥७॥ करे च चक्ररत्नं च तवैवोत्तम वर्तते । पद्मलचमीधरायैर्मे ग्रहणं किमिवापरैः ॥८॥ मद्विधानां निसर्गोऽयं यन्न चक्रिणि शक्नुमः । किञ्चित्पराभवं कत्तु मन्यत्र तु किमुच्यते ॥८६॥ बृह्यद्य सर्वदैत्यानां करोमि किमु मारणम् । भवत्यप्रियचित्तानां किं वा स्वर्गीकसामपि ॥१०॥ क्षद्रविद्यात्तगर्वेषु नभस्वत्पथगामिषु । आदरो नैव मे कश्चिद्वराकेषु तृणेष्विव ॥११॥
उपजातिवृत्तम् प्रणम्य बिद्या समुपासितोऽसौ समाप्तयोगः परमद्युतिस्थः । दशाननो यावदुदारचेष्टः प्रदक्षिणं शान्तिगृहं करोति ॥१२॥ तावत्परित्यज्य मनोभिरामा मन्दोदरी खेदपरीतदेहाम् ।
उत्पत्य खं पद्मसमागमेन गतोऽङ्गदोऽसौ रविवत्सुतेजाः ॥१३॥ इत्याचे रविषेणाचार्यप्रोक्ते पद्मपुराणे पद्मायने बहुरूपविद्यासन्निधानाभिधानं
नामैकसप्ततितमं पर्व |७||
करते थे उसी प्रकार वह विद्याका ध्यान कर रहा था। इस तरह वह अपनी स्थिरतासे मन्दरगिरिकी समानताको प्राप्त हो रहा था ॥४॥
__ अथानन्तर जिस समय मन्दोदरी रावणसे उस प्रकार कह रही थी उसी समय दशो दिशाओंको प्रकाशित करती एवं जय-जय शब्दका उच्चारण करती बहुरूपिणी विद्या उसके सामने खड़ी हो गई ॥५॥ उसने कहा भी कि हे देव ! मैं सिद्ध हो गई हूँ, आपकी आज्ञा पालन करनेमें उद्यत हूँ, हे नाथ ! आज्ञा दी जाय, समस्त संसारमें मुझे सब साध्य है ॥६|| प्रतिकूल खड़े हुए एक चक्रधरको छोड़ मैं आपकी इच्छानुसार प्रवृत्ति करती हुई समस्त लोकको आपके आधीन कर सकती हूँ ।।८७॥ हे उत्तम पुरुष ! चक्ररत्न तो तुम्हारे ही हाथ में है। राम लक्ष्मण आदि अन्य पुरुष मेरा क्या ग्रहण करगे अथोतू उनमें मरे ग्रहण करनेकी शक्ति हैं। क्या है? ||८|| हमारी जैसी विद्याओंका यही स्वभाव है कि हम चक्रवर्तीका कुछ भी पराभव करनेके लिए समर्थ नहीं हैं और इसके अतिरिक्त दूसरेका तो कहना ही क्या है ? ॥८६॥ कहो आज, आपसे अप्रसन्न रहनेवाले समस्त दैत्योंका संहार करूँ या समस्त देवोंका ? ||६|| क्षुद्र विद्याओंसे गर्वीले, तृणके समान तुच्छ दयनीय विद्याधरोंमें मेरा कुछ भी आदर नहीं है अर्थात् उन्हें कुछ भी नहीं समझती हूँ ॥६१।। इस तरह प्रणाम कर विद्या जिसकी उपासना कर रही थी, जिसका ध्यान पूर्ण हो चुका था, जो परमदीप्तिके मध्य स्थित था तथा जो उदार चेष्टाका धारक था ऐसा दशानन जब तक शान्ति-जिनालयकी प्रदक्षिणा करता है तब तक सूर्य के समान तेजस्वी अङ्गद, खेदाखिन्न शरीरकी धारक सुन्दरी मन्दोदरीको छोड़ आकाशमें उड़कर रामसे जा मिला ||६२-६३॥
इस प्रकार आर्ष नामसे प्रसिद्ध, रविषेणाचार्य द्वारा कथित पद्मपुराण नामक पद्मायनमें रावणके बहुरूपिणी विद्याकी सिद्धिका वर्णन करनेवाला इकहत्तरवाँ पर्व समाप्त हुआ ॥७१।।

Having bowed down to the knowledge that was being worshipped, whose meditation was complete, who was situated in the midst of supreme brilliance, and who was the bearer of noble deeds, Dashaanan, as long as he circumambulates the shrine of peace, Angada, radiant like the sun, leaving behind Mandodari, whose body was filled with sorrow, flew up into the sky and went to meet Rama. ||12-13||
Thus ends the seventy-first chapter of the Padma Purana, known as the Padmayana, narrated by the sage Ravisha, describing the attainment of the knowledge of the many forms by Ravana. ||71||
