In the Panchapurana, it is certainly the fifteenth death according to the divine plan. Filled with sorrow and wonder, the Saudharma and Aruci deities departed. (15)
Thereafter, their minds were completely engulfed by the flames of remorse. The two, who were condemned, never attained peace there. (16)
The sinful deeds of the ungrateful and deluded souls become the cause of their own suffering. (17)
Realizing that the deed was divinely ordained, the noble ladies endeavored to appease him. (18)
By what ungrateful and deluded lady was he disgraced, she who was filled with the pride of good fortune and extremely perverse? (19)
Be gracious, let the anger subside, or even this painful seat (of suffering). Wherever there is anger, that is considered the right course of action. (20)
Saying this, some embraced him with the ground of supreme love, and fell at his feet, intent on sweet speech. (21)
Some played the vina, singing most sweetly, with the intention of pleasing him. (22)
Some, eager to converse with him, made efforts from the entire assembly to address him. (23)
Some, in their pristine charm, embraced and kissed the cheek adorned with earrings of their beloved. (24)
Some, with lotus-petal-like faces, reverently placed his lotus-like feet on their heads. (25)
Some, with deer-like eyes of a child, were eager to adorn his head with the garland of intoxicated lotus flowers. (26)
Some, with wide-open mouths, slowly nibbled on his limbs, making sounds in all the joints. (27)
Thus, the futile efforts of these noble ladies, devoid of consciousness, came to naught. (28)
