1. The time passes slowly between the two lotus-like kings (Rama and Lakshmana), who are bound by the great mutual affection.
2. Those two, residing in the lotus-forest of supreme sovereignty, rejoice like the two elephants anointed with sandalwood.
3. In the time when the rivers dry up, engulfed by forest fires, the ascetics, having taken the vows, stand facing the sun.
4. There, in the beautiful water-houses and in the gardens replete with all beloved means, they (Rama and Lakshmana) sport.
5. Fanned by the chowries dripping with the great fragrance of sandalwood water and the best palm-leaf fans,
6. They, seated on clear crystal slabs, anointed with sandalwood paste, reclining on the mass of water-drenched lotus-flower petals,
7. Enjoy the pure, sweet water, cooled by the contact of cardamom, cloves, camphor and other fragrant substances.
8. Attended by women skilled in various conversations, they forcibly bear the cold season as if it were the winter.
9. Where the yogis, their forms purified by the flowing waters, destroy their inauspicious karma, seated at the roots of the trees.
10. There, in the dark clouds, the great mansion shines, on the bank of the ocean-like river, with its high walls.
11. Residing like the peak of Meru, wearing excellent garments, their bodies anointed with saffron and using limitless agaru,
12. They stand, like the king of the Yakshas, as the lotus-pond for the swarm of bees that are the eyes of the great voluptuous women, enjoying pleasantly.
