पद्मपुराणे
भावार्पितनमस्काराः करकुड्मलमस्तकाः । मानवेन्द्रः समं योग्यमुपविष्टाः सुरेश्वराः ॥१७॥ चतुर्भेदजुषो देवा नानालङ्कारधारिणः । अलच्यन्त मुनीन्द्रस्य रवेरिव मरीचयः ॥१८॥ रराज राजराजोऽपि रामो नात्यन्तदूरगः । मुनेः सुमेरुकूटस्य पार्वे कल्पतरुर्यथा ॥१६॥ लचमीधरनरेन्द्रोऽपि मौलिकुण्डलराजितः । विद्यत्वानिव जीमतः शुशुभेऽन्तिकपर्वतः ॥१०॥ शत्रुध्नोऽपि महाशत्रुभयदान विचक्षणः। द्वितीय इव भाति स्म कुबेरश्चारुदर्शनः ॥१०॥ गुणसौभाग्यतूगीरौ वीरौ तौ च सुलक्ष गौ। सूर्याचन्द्रमसौ यजतुलवणाङ्कुशौ ॥१०॥ बाह्यालङ्कारमुक्ताऽपि वस्त्रमात्रपरिग्रह। । आर्या रराज वैदेही रविमूर्येव संयता ॥१०३॥ मनुष्यनाकवासेषु धर्मश्रवणकांक्षिषु । धरण्यामुपविष्टेषु ततो विनयशालिपु ।।१०४॥ धीरोऽभयनिनादाख्यो मुनिः शिष्यगणाग्रणीः। सन्देहतापशान्त्यर्थ पप्रच्छ मुनिपुङ्गवम् ।। १८५॥ विपुलं निपुणं शुद्धं तत्वार्थ मुनिबोधनम् । नतो जगाद योगीशः कर्मक्षयकरं वचः ।।१०६॥ रहस्यं तत्तदा तेन विबुधानां महात्मनाम् । कथितं तन्समुद्रस्य कणमेकं वदाम्यहम् ॥१०७॥ प्रशस्तदर्शनज्ञाननन्दनं भव्यसम्मतम् । वस्तुतत्त्वमिदं तेन प्रोक्तं परमयोगिना ॥१०॥ अनन्तालोकखान्तस्थो मृदङ्गद्वयसन्निभः । लोको व्यवस्थितोऽधस्तात्तिर्यगूदुर्ध्वव्यवस्थितः ॥१०॥ विध्येनामुना तस्य ख्याता त्रिभुवनाभिधा । अचस्तान् मन्दरस्यारेविज्ञेयाः सप्तभूमयः ॥१०॥
जिनके कपोल आलिङ्गित थे, जिन्होंने भाव पूर्वक नमस्कार किया था, और जो हाथ जोड़कर मस्तकसे लगाये हुए थे ऐसे देवेन्द्र वहाँ नरेन्द्रके समान यथायोग्य बैठे थे ।।६६-६७॥ नाना अलंकारोंको धारण करनेवाले चारों प्रकारके देव, मुनिराजके समीप ऐसे दिखाई देते थे मानो सूर्यके समीप उसकी किरणें ही हो ॥६८। मुनिराजके निकट स्थित राजाधिराज राम भी ऐसे सुशोभित हो रहे थे मानो सुमेरुके शिखरके समीप कल्प वृक्ष ही हो ।।६६। मुकुट और कुण्डलोंसे सुशोभित लक्ष्मण भी, किसी पर्वत मीप स्थित बिजलीसे सहित मेघके समान सुशोभित हो रहे थे ।।१००।। महाशत्रुओंको भय देनेमें निपुण सुन्दर शत्रुघ्न भी द्वितीय कुवेरके समान सुशोभित हो रहा था ॥१०१॥ गुण और सौभाग्यके तरकस तथा उत्तम लक्षणोंसे युक्त वे दोनों वीर लवण और अंकुश सूर्य और चन्द्रमाके समान सुशोभित हो रहे थे ॥१०२।। वस्त्रमात्र परिग्रहको धारण करनेवाली आर्या सीता यद्यपि बाह्य अलंकारोंसे सहित थी तथापि वह ऐसी सशोभित हो रही थी मानो सूर्य की मूर्तिसे ही सम्बद्ध हो ॥१०३॥
__ तदनन्तर धर्मश्रवणके इच्छुक तथा विनयसे सुशोभित समस्त मनुष्य और देव जब यथायोग्य पृथिवी पर बैठ गये तब शिष्य समूहमें प्रधान, अभयनिनाद नामक, धीर वीर मुनिने सन्देह रूपी संतापको शान्त करनेके लिए सर्वभूषण मुनिराजसे पूछा ।।१०४-१०५॥ तदनन्तर मुनिराजने वह वचन कहे कि जो अत्यन्त विस्तृत थे, चातुर्यपूर्ण थे, शुद्ध थे, तत्त्वार्थके प्रतिपादक थे, मुनियों के प्रबोधक थे और कर्मोका क्षय करनेवाले थे ॥१०६॥ गौतम स्वामी कहते हैं कि उस समय उन योगिराजने विद्वानों तथा महात्माओंके लिए जो रहस्य कहा था वह समुद्रके समान भारी था। हे श्रेणिक ! मैं तो यहाँ उसका एक कण ही कहता हूँ ॥१०७।। उन परम योगीने जो वस्तुतत्त्वका निरूपण किया था वह प्रशस्त दर्शन और ज्ञानके धारक पुरुषों के लिए आनन्द देनेवाला था तथा भव्य जीवोंको इष्ट था ॥१०८।।
उन्होंने कहा कि यह लोक अनन्त अलोकाकाशके मध्यमें स्थित दो मृदङ्गोंके समान है, नीचे, बीचमें तथा ऊपरकी ओर स्थित है ।। १०६।। इस तरह तीन प्रकारसे स्थित होनेके कारण इस लोकको त्रिलोक अथवा विविध कहते हैं । मेरु पर्वतके नीचे सात भूमियाँ हैं ॥११०।।

Those who had embraced the cheeks of the Jina, who had offered salutations with devotion, and who had joined their hands and touched their foreheads, such Devendras were seated there, like the human king, in a fitting manner. ||17||
The gods, adorned with various ornaments, who were of four types, appeared near the Muni-indra like the rays of the sun. ||18||
Even the king of kings, Rama, shone brightly, not very far from the Muni, like the Kalpa tree on the summit of Sumeru. ||16||
Even Lakshmana, the king, adorned with a crown and earrings, shone brightly near the Muni, like a cloud with lightning near a mountain. ||10||
Shatrughna, skilled in striking fear into the hearts of great enemies, shone brightly like the second Kubera, with a beautiful appearance. ||10||
Those two heroes, Lava and Kusha, adorned with the quiver of virtue and good fortune, and with excellent marks, shone brightly like the sun and the moon. ||10||
Even though she was devoid of external ornaments, the noble Sita, adorned only with clothes, shone brightly like the sun itself. ||103||
Then, all the humans and gods, who were desirous of hearing the Dharma, and who were adorned with humility, sat down on the earth in a fitting manner. ||104||
The Muni, Abhay-ninada by name, the chief of the group of disciples, a valiant and courageous soul, asked the Muni-punga, the best of Munis, to dispel the heat of doubt. ||105||
Then the Muni-raja spoke those words, which were very extensive, skillful, pure, revealing the true meaning, enlightening the Munis, and destroying karma. ||106||
Gautama Swami says, "At that time, the Yogi-raja spoke a secret to the learned and the great souls, which was as vast as the ocean. O Shrenika! I am only speaking a single particle of it here." ||107||
That which was spoken by the supreme Yogi, was a true statement, which was pleasing to those who had good vision and knowledge, and was desirable for the worthy beings. ||108||
He said, "This world is like two mridangas, situated in the midst of infinite space, and is situated below, in the middle, and above." ||109||
Because of this three-fold arrangement, this world is known as Triloka or diverse. There are seven lands below the Meru mountain. ||110||
