________________ पद्मपुराणे अप्सरोभिः समं स्वर्गे प्रक्रीड्य सुचिरं सुखम् । करिणीभिः समं क्रीडामकरोत् सुकरी पुनः ॥ १६४ ॥ ईशी कर्मणां शक्तिर्यजीवाः सर्वयोनिषु । वस्तुतो दुःखयुक्तासु प्राप्नुवन्ति परां रतिम् ॥ १६५ ॥ च्युतः सन्नभिरामोऽपि साकेतानगरे नृपः । भरतोऽयमभूद्धीमान् सद्ध मंगतमानसः ॥ १६६ ॥ विलीन मोहनिचयः सोऽयं भोगपराङ्मुखः । श्रामण्यमीहते कत्तु पुनर्भवनिवृत्तये ॥ १६७ ॥ गोदमार्ग ' मरीचिप्रवर्त्तिते । समये दीक्षितावास्तां परित्यक्तमहाव्रतौ ॥१६८॥ तावेतौ मानिनौ भानुशशाङ्कोदयसंज्ञितौ । संसारदुःखितौ भ्रान्तौ भ्रातरौ कर्मचेष्टितौ ॥१६६॥ कृतस्य कर्मणो लोके सुखदुःखविधायिनः । जना निस्तपसोऽवश्यं प्राप्नुवन्ति फलोदयम् ॥ १७० ॥ चन्द्रः कुलङ्करो यश्च समाधिमरणी मृगः । सोऽयं नरपतिर्जातो भरतः साधुमानसः ॥ १७१ ॥ आदित्यश्रुतिविप्रश्च कृष्टमृत्युः कुरङ्गकः । सम्प्राप्तो गजतामेष पापकर्मानुभावतः ॥ १७२ ॥ प्रमृद्य बन्धनस्तम्भं बलवानुद्धतः परम् । भरतालोकनात् स्मृत्वा पूर्वजन्म शमं गतः ॥१७३॥ १४८ शार्दूलविक्रीडितम् ज्ञात्वैवं गतिमार्गतिं च विविधां बाह्यं सुखं वा ध्रुवं कर्मारण्यमिदं विहाय विषमं धर्मे रमध्वं बुधाः । मानुष्यं समवाप्य यैर्जिनवरप्रोक्तो न धर्मः कृत स्ते संसारसुहृत्त्वमभ्युपगताः स्वार्थस्य दूरे स्थिताः ॥ १७४॥ लक्षणोंसे युक्त इस हाथीका त्रिलोककंटक नाम रखा || १६३॥ यह पूर्वभव में स्वर्ग में अप्सराओंके साथ चिरकाल तक क्रीड़ा कर सुखी हुआ अब हस्तिनियोंके साथ क्रीड़ा कर सुखी हो रहा है ॥१६४॥ यथार्थ में कर्मोंकी ऐसी ही विचित्र शक्ति है कि जीव, दुःखोंसे युक्त नाना योनियों में परम प्रीतिको प्राप्त होते हैं || १६५|| अभिरामका जीव भी च्युत हो अयोध्या नगरी में राजा भरत हुआ है | यह भरत अत्यन्त बुद्धिमान् है तथा समीचीन धर्ममें इसका हृदय लग रहा है ॥१६६॥ जिसके मोहका समूह विलीन हो चुका है तथा जो भोगोंसे विमुख है ऐसा यह भरत पुनर्भव दूर करने के लिए मुनि दीक्षा धारण करना चाहता है ॥ १६७ ॥ श्री ऋषभदेवके समय ये दोनों सूर्योदय और चन्द्रोदय नामक भाई थे तथा उन्हीं ऋषभदेवके साथ जिनधर्म में दीक्षित हुए थे किन्तु बाद में अभिमानसे प्रेरित हो महाव्रत छोड़कर मरीचिके द्वारा चलाये हुए परिव्राजक मतमें दीक्षित हो गये जिसके फलस्वरूप संसारके दुःखसे दुःखी हो कर्मोंका फल भोगते हुए चिरकाल तक संसार में भ्रमण करते रहे ।। १६८ - १६६ ।। सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि संसार में जो मनुष्य तप नहीं करते है वे अपने द्वारा किये हुए सुख दुःखदायी कर्मका फल अवश्य ही प्राप्त करते हैं ॥ १७० ॥ जो चन्द्रोदयका जीव पहले कुलंकर और उसके बाद समाधि मरण करनेवाला मृग हुआ था वही क्रम-क्रम से उत्तम हृदयको धारण करनेवाला राजा भरत हुआ है ॥ १७१ ।। और सूर्योदय ब्राह्मणका जीव मरकर मृग हुआ फिर क्रम क्रमसे पापकर्मके उदयसे इस हस्ती पर्यायको प्राप्त हुआ है ।।१७२।। अत्यन्त उत्कट बलको धारण करनेवाला यह हाथी पहले तो बन्धनका खम्भा उखाड़ कर क्षोभको प्राप्त हुआ परन्तु बाद में भरत के देखने से पूर्वभवका स्मरणकर शान्त हो गया ॥ १७३॥ गौतम स्वामी कहते हैं कि हे विद्वज्जनो ! इस तरह नाना प्रकारकी गति आगति तथा बाह्य सुख और दुःखको जानकर इस विषम कर्म अटवीको छोड़ धर्ममें रमण करो क्योंकि जिन्होंने मनुष्य पर्याय प्राप्त कर जिनेन्द्र कथित धर्म धारण नहीं किया है वे संसार भ्रमणको प्राप्त हो Jain Education International १. यो म० । २. मरीचिः प्रवर्तते म० । ३. रमणी मृगः ज० । For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
