144 Pachpuranas One who wanders in the wilderness of samsara for a long time, attains this human birth through virtuous deeds. (10) Who, knowing, throws himself into a well, O great soul? Or who is satisfied with the objects of the senses, which are destructive? (111) Only the attachment to virtue is praiseworthy, leading to the happiness of liberation. ________________ १४४ पचपुराणे चिरं संसारकान्तारे भ्राम्यता पुण्यकर्मतः । मानुष्यकमिदं कृच्छ्रात् प्राप्यते प्राणधारिणा ॥१०॥ जानानः को जनः कूपे क्षिपति स्वं महाशयः । विषं वा कः पिबेत् को वा भृगौ निद्रां निषेवते ।।११०॥ को वा रस्नेप्सया नाग मस्तकं पाणिना स्पृशेत् । विनाशकेषु कामेषु तिर्जायेत कस्य वा ॥११॥ सुकृतासक्तिरेकैव श्लाघ्या मुक्तिसुखावहा । जनानां चञ्चलेऽत्यन्तं जीविते निस्पृहात्मनाम् ॥११२॥ एवमाद्या गिरः श्रुत्वा परमार्थोपदेशिनीः । उपशान्ता स्त्रियः शक्त्या' नियमेषु ररंजिरे ।।११३॥ राजपुत्रः सुदेहेऽपि स्वकीये रागवर्जितः । चतुर्थादिनिराहारैः कर्मकालुष्यमक्षिणोत् ।।५१४॥ तपसा च विचित्रेण समाहितमना विभुः । शरीरं तनुतां निन्ये ग्रीष्मादित्य इवोदकम् ।।११५।। चतुःषष्टिसहस्राणि वर्षाणां स सुदर्शनः । अकम्पितमना वीरस्तपश्चक्रेऽतिदुःसहम् ।।११६॥ पञ्चप्रणामसंयुक्तं समाधिमरणं श्रितः । अशिश्रियत् सुदेवत्वं कल्पे ब्रह्मोत्तरश्रतौ।।११७॥ असौ धनदपूर्वस्तु जीवः संमृत्य योनिषु । पोदने नगरे जज्ञे जम्बूभरतदक्षिणे ।।११।। शकुनाग्निमुखास्तस्य माहनौ जन्मकारणम् । नाम्ना मृदुमतिश्चासौ व्यर्थन परिभाषितः ॥११॥ धूताविनयसक्तात्मा रथ्यारेणुसमुक्षितः । नानापराधववेष्यः स बभूव दुरीहितः ।।१२०॥ लोकोपालम्भखिन्नाभ्यां पितृभ्यां स निराकृतः। पर्यव्य धरणीं प्राप यौवने पोदनं पुनः ॥१२॥ लिए जैनधर्मकी प्रशंसा करनेवाला उपदेश देता था ॥१०८॥ वह कहा करता था इस संसाररू अटवीमें चिरकालसे भ्रमण करनेवाला प्राणी पुण्यकर्मोदयसे बड़ी कठिनाईसे इस मनुष्य भव प्राप्त होता है ॥१०६।। उदार अभिप्रायको धारण करनेवाला कौन मनुष्य जान-बूझकर अपने आपको कुएँ में गिरता है ? कौन मनुष्य विषपान करता है ? अथवा कौन मनुष्य पहाड़की चोटीपर शयन करता है ? ॥११०।। अथवा कौन मनुष्य रत्न पानेकी इछासे नागके मस्तकको हाथसे छूता है ? अथवा विनाशकारी इन इन्द्रियोंके विषयों में किसे कब सन्तोष हुआ है ? ॥१११॥ अत्यन्त चश्चल जीवनमें जिनकी स्पृहा शान्त हो चुकी है ऐसे मनुष्योंकी जो एक पुण्यमें प्रशंसनीय आसक्ति है वही उन्हें मुक्तिका सुख देनेवाली है ॥११२।। इत्यादि परमार्थका उपदेश देनेवाली वाणी सुनकर उसकी वे स्त्रियाँ शान्त हो गई थी तथा शक्ति अनुसार नियमोंका पालन करने लगी थीं ॥११३।। वह राजपुत्र अपने सुन्दर शरीरमें भी रागसे रहित था इसलिए वेला आदि उपवासोंसे कर्मकी कलुषताको दूर करता रहता था ॥११४॥ जिसका चित्त सदा सावधान रहता था ऐसा वह राजपुत्र विचित्र तपस्याके द्वारा शरीरको उस तरह कृश करता रहता था जिस तरह कि ग्रीष्मऋतुका सूर्य पानीको कृश करता रहता है ।।११।। निर्मल सम्यग्दर्शनको धारण करनेवाले उस निश्चलचित्त वीर राजपुत्रने चौंसठ हजार वर्षतक अत्यन्त दुःसह तप किया ॥११६॥ अन्तमें पञ्चपरमेष्ठियोंके नमस्कारसे मुक्त समाधिमरणको प्राप्त हो ब्रह्मोत्तर नामक स्वर्गमें उत्तम देव पर्यायको प्राप्त हुआ है ।।११७॥ __अथानन्तर भूषणके भवमें जो उसका पिता धनदसेठ था उसका जीव नाना योनियोंमें भ्रमणकर जम्बूद्वीप सम्बन्धी भरत क्षेत्रकी दक्षिण दिशामें स्थित जो पोदनपुर नामका नगर था उसमें अग्निमुख और शकुमा नामक ब्राह्मण ब्राह्मणी उसके जन्मके कारण हुए। उन दोनोंके वह मृदुमति नामका पुत्र हुआ। वह मृदुमति निरर्थक नामका धारी था अर्थात् मृदुबुद्धि न होकर कठोर बुद्धि था ॥११८-११६। जिसकी बुद्धि जुआ तथा अविनयमें आसक्त रहती थी, जो मार्ग धूलिसे धूसरित रहता था तथा जो नाना प्रकारके अपराध करनेके कारण लोगों के द्वेषका पात्र था, ऐसा वह अत्यन्त दुष्ट चेष्टाओंका धारक था ॥१२०।। लोगोंके उलाहनोंसे खिन्न होकर माता. पिताने उसे घरसे निकाल दिया जिससे वह पृथिवीमें जहाँ तहाँ भ्रमण कर यौवनके समय पुनः १. शक्ता म० । २. -भिराहारैः म० । ३. शकुनाग्निमुखस्तस्य माहनी म । Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
