Padmapurane
This parasol, whose appearance is like the waters of the moon's orb, and who wears earrings that shine like the sun and moon, and whose necklace resembles the color of the rainy season, is the most excellent among men, the great fortunate one. (30)
Grieving intensely due to separation from you, O beautiful-faced one, he comes like the lord of elephants, Padma, to gaze upon the lotus-like face. (32)
Seeing the lotus-like face of her lord, Janaki (Sita) thought she had regained a long-lost dream, and became sorrowful again. (33)
Rising up hastily from the lord of elephants, the lotus-eyed one, filled with excitement, embraced Sita, radiating joy. (34)
Just as the moon, emerging from the mass of clouds, delighted Rohini, so did the wielder of the plow-weapon, descending from the elephant, delight Vaidehi (Sita). (35)
Knowing that her lord had arrived, the great-souled Sita, distressed like a doe, arose hurriedly. (36)
Her hair was grayed by the dust of the earth, her body was soiled, her lips were withered like faded Banduka flowers, by nature she was slender, and separation had made her even more so. Yet, she had a slight uplift due to the sight of him. (37-38)
She seemed to be embracing him with the affectionate rays emanating from her hands, sprinkling him as it were with the rippling currents of her wide-open eyes, anointing him as it were with the sudden growth of her beauty, and fanning him as it were with the joyous exhalations that issued forth. (39-40)
Her broad hips provided a resting place for the eyes, her lotus-like hands had conquered the beauty of Shri's hands, she was the protector of righteousness born of the jewel of good fortune, her face was as full as the moon and free from blemish. (41-42)
She was endowed with great steadfastness, from her face-moon had arisen the expanded lotus-like eyes, she was free from impurity, her bosom was lofty, and she was devoid of the crookedness of Cupid. (43-44)
