पद्मपुराणे
वाहनावस्त्रसंपत्तिरातपत्रे परा द्युतिः । ध्वजौ रत्नानि चित्राणि श्रूयते दिव्यमीदृशम् ||१५|| पद्मनाभस्ततोऽगादीत्तेभ्यो हिण्डनमात्मनः । उपसर्गे च शैला देशगोत्रविभूषयोः ॥ १६ ॥ चतुराननयोगेन स्थितयोर्देवनिर्मितम् । प्रातिहार्यं समुद्भूतं केवलं च सुरागमम् ॥१७॥ गरुडेन्द्रस्य तोषं च परिप्राप्तिं वरस्थ च । अनुध्यानप्रयोगेन महाविद्यासमागमम् ॥१८॥ ततस्तेऽवहिताः श्रुत्वा परमां योगिसंकथाम् । इदमूचुः परिप्राप्ताः प्रमोदं विकचाननाः ॥१९॥

इहैव लोके विकटं परं यशो मतिप्रगल्भत्वमुदारचेष्टितम् ।
अवाप्यते पुण्यविधिश्च निर्मलो नरेण भक्त्यार्पित साधुसेवया ॥२०॥ तथा न माता न पिता न वा सुहृत् सहोदरो वा कुरुते नृणां प्रियम् । प्रदाय धर्मे मतिमुत्तमां यथा हितं परं साधुजनः शुभोदयाम् ॥२१॥ इतिप्रशंसार्पित भाविताश्चिरं जिनेन्द्रमार्गोन्नतिविस्मिताः परम् । बलं सनारायणमाश्रिता बभ्रुर्महाविभूत्या समुपाश्रिता नृपाः ॥२२॥ शार्दूलविक्रीडितम् भव्याम्भोजमहासमुत्सवकरीं श्रुत्वा पवित्रां कथ
सर्वे हर्षमहारसोदधिगताः प्रीतिं दधानाः पराम् । तौ निद्रोज्झतपुण्डरीकनयनौ संप्राप्तदेवार्चनौ
विद्याधरपुं गवाः सुरसमाः सर्वात्मनापूजयन् ॥ २३ ॥
श्रीवृक्ष आदि विद्याधर राजाओंने पूजा कर राम लक्ष्मणसे पूछा कि हे नाथ! आप दोनोंकी विपत्ति के समय जो पहले कभी देखने में नहीं आयी ऐसी यह अद्भुत विभूति किस कारण प्राप्त हुई है सो कहिए ॥१३-१४|| वाहन, अस्त्ररूपी सम्पत्ति, छत्र, परम कान्ति, ध्वजाएँ और नाना प्रकार के रत्न जो कुछ आपको प्राप्त हुए हैं वे सब दिव्य हैं, देवोपनीत हैं ऐसा सुना जाता है || १५॥ तदनन्तर रामने उन सबके लिए कहा कि एक बार वंशस्थविल पर्वत के अग्रभागपर देशभूषण और कुलभूषण मुनियोंको उपसर्ग हो रहा था सो मैं वहाँ पहुँच गया || १६ | मैंने उपसर्ग दूर किया, उसी समय दोनों मुनिराजोंको केवलज्ञान उत्पन्न हुआ, चतुर्मुखाकार होकर दोनों विराजमान हुए, देवनिर्मित प्रातिहार्यं उत्पन्न हुए, देवोंका आगमन हुआ, गरुड़ेन्द्र हमसे सन्तुष्ट हुआ और उससे हमें घर की प्राप्ति हुई। इस समय उसी गरुड़ेन्द्रके ध्यानसे इन महाविद्याओंकी प्राप्ति हुई ।।१७-१८ ।। तदनन्तर सावधान हो मुनियोंकी उत्तम कथा श्रवण कर, जो परम प्रमोदको प्राप्त हो रहे थे और जिनके मुखकमल हर्षसे विकसित हो रहे थे ऐसे उन सब विद्याधर राजाओंने कहा कि ||१९|| भक्तिपूर्वक की हुई साधुसेवाके प्रभावसे मनुष्य इसी भवमें विशाल उत्तम यश, वुद्धिको प्रगल्भता, उदार चेष्टा और निर्मल पुण्य विधिको प्राप्त होता है ||२०|| मुनिजन उत्तम बुद्धिको धर्ममें लगाकर मनुष्योंका जैसा शुभोदयसे सम्पन्न परम प्रिय हित करते हैं वैसा हित न माता करती है, न पिता करता है, न मित्र करता है और न सगा भाई ही करता है ||२१|| इस प्रकार चिरकाल तक प्रशंसा कर जिन्होंने अपनो भावनाएँ समर्पित की थीं और जिनेन्द्रमार्गकी उन्नति से जो परम आश्चर्यको प्राप्त हो रहे थे, ऐसे महावैभवसे युक्त राजा, राम और लक्ष्मणका आश्रय पाकर अत्यन्त सुशोभित हो रहे थे ||२२|| इस तरह भव्य जीवरूपी कमलोंके उत्सवको करनेवाली

At that time, by meditating on Garuda, we obtained these great knowledge." ||17-18|| Then, those Vidyaadhara kings, who were attentive, having heard the excellent story of the sages, and who were attaining supreme joy, with their lotus-like faces blooming, said, ||19|| "By the influence of the service of the virtuous, performed with devotion, a man obtains in this very world, great and excellent fame, sharpness of intellect, noble conduct, and pure merit." ||20|| "Neither a mother, nor a father, nor a friend, nor a brother, does the good of men as the virtuous do, by implanting in them the highest wisdom in Dharma, for their ultimate good and auspicious rise." ||21|| Thus, those kings, who had dedicated their feelings for a long time, and who were filled with wonder at the progress of the Jina path, were adorned by the shelter of Rama and Lakshmana, who were endowed with great splendor. ||22|| Hearing this story, which was like the playful roar of a lion, and which was the cause of a great festival of beautiful lotus-like beings, all of them attained the ocean of great joy, and were filled with supreme delight. Those two, with lotus-like eyes that had abandoned sleep, having attained the worship of the gods, were worshipped by the Vidyaadhara kings, who were like the gods, with their whole being. ||23||
