**Thirty-Third Chapter** Now there, after a moment, Ram and Lakshman took a brief rest in that temple. At the time of midnight when a dense darkness spread, the sounds of people had ceased and humans were tranquil. Then, having bowed to the Lord Jinendra, they donned their armor and lifted their bows, proceeding with Sita between them. They both adorned excellent attire and held lamps in their hands, making it seem as though they were witnessing lovers at festive places. (1-2) They saw a certain man, whose body was weary from sensual pleasure, taking a deep slumber, having placed his beloved in the midst of arms like a cage. (3) A man who had committed an offense had previously angered his wife and was now repeatedly assuring her with false oaths. (4) Another man, having feigned anger and sitting separately, was being calmed by his wife, who was aroused by love, with sweet words. (5) A woman, whose body was weary from the efforts of lovemaking, was deeply engrossed in sleep, as though she had attained oneness with her husband. (6) A certain man was struggling to converse joyfully with his newlywed wife, who was sitting shyly and averted due to shyness. (7) Another woman was narrating all the offenses her husband had previously committed, and he was assuring her with confidence after pacifying her. (8) One man, having shrunk his body, entered another's house and was driving away a cat that was seated by the window. (9) A person had indicated to his promiscuous lover to come to an isolated monastery, but she delayed in coming; therefore, he was anxiously getting up repeatedly to look for her. (10) A certain lover of a courtesan had arrived late, hence she was exceedingly angry and was beating him with her waist cloth while tying it. (11) Another man, having engaged with a courtesan, was addressed by the footsteps of a dog, which caused him great fear. (12) *References: 1. Viti Kāmīnaḥ (M) 2. Kṛtāparādhakaḥ (J)*
