एकविंशतितमं पर्व
प्रलम्बितमहाभोगिभोगमासुरसद्भुजम् । शैलेन्द्रतटसंकाश पीवरोदारवक्षसम् ॥ ९२ ॥ दिग्नागबन्धनस्तम्भ स्थिरभास्वद्वरोरुकम् । तपसापि कृशं कान्त्या दृश्यमानं सुपीवरम् ॥९३॥ नासिकाग्रनिविष्टातिसौम्यनिश्चलचक्षुषम् । मुनिं ध्यायन्तमैकाग्रयं दृष्ट्वा 'राजेत्यचिन्तयत् ॥ ९४॥ अहो धन्योऽयमत्यन्तं प्रशान्तो मानवोत्तमः । यद्विहायाखिलं संगं तपस्यति मुमुक्षया ॥ ९५॥ विमुक्त्यानुगृहीतोऽयं कल्याणाभिनिविष्टधीः । परपीडानिवृत्तात्मा मुनिर्लक्ष्मीपरिष्कृतः ॥९६॥ समः सुहृदि शत्रौ च रत्नराशौ तृणे तथा । मानमत्सरनिर्मुक्तः सिद्ध्यालिङ्गनलालसः ॥९७॥ वशीकृतहृषीकामा निष्प्रकम्पो गिरीन्द्रवत् । श्रेयो ध्यायति नीरागः कुशलस्थितमानसः ॥९८॥ फलं पुष्कलमेतेन लब्धं मानुषजन्मनः । अयं न वञ्चितः क्रूरैः कषायाख्यैर्मलिम्लुचैः ॥९९॥ अहं नु वेष्टितः पापः कर्मपाशैरनन्तरम् । आशीविषैर्महानागैर्यथा चन्दनपादपः ॥ १०० ॥ प्रमत्तचेतसं पापं धिग्मां निश्चेतनोपमम् । योऽहं निद्रामिमोगाद्विमहाभृगुशिरस्थितः ॥ १०१ ॥ यदि नाम मजेयेमामवस्थामस्य योगिनः । भवेयं लब्धलब्धव्यस्ततो मानुषजन्मनि ॥ १०२॥ इति चिन्तयतस्तस्त्र राज्ञो निर्ग्रन्थपुङ्गवे । दृष्टिः स्तम्भनिबद्धेव बभूवात्यन्तनिश्चला ॥१०३॥ एवं निश्चलपक्ष्माणं निरीक्ष्योदय सुन्दरः । कुर्वन्नर्म जगादेवं वज्रबाहुं कृतस्मितः ॥ १०४॥ चिरं निरीक्षितो देवस्त्वयैष मुनिपुङ्गवः । वृणीषे किमिमां दीक्षां रागवानत्र दृश्यसे ॥ १०५ ॥ वज्रबाहुरथोवोचत् कृतभावनिगूहनः । वर्तते कः पुनर्भावस्तवोदय निवेदय ॥ १०६ ॥
शिलाओंसे विषम धरातलमें स्थिर विराजमान थे, सूर्यकी किरणोंसे आलिंगित होने के कारण उनका मुखकमल म्लान हो रहा था, किसी बड़े सर्पके समान सुशोभित उनकी दोनों उत्तम भुजाएं नोचेकी ओर लटक रही थीं, उनका वक्षःस्थल सुमेरुके तटके समान स्थूल तथा चौड़ा था, उनकी देदीप्यमान दोनों उत्कृष्ट जाँघें दिग्गजोंके बाँधनेके खम्भोंके समान स्थिर थीं, यद्यपि वे तपके कारण कृश थे तथापि कान्तिसे अत्यन्त स्थूल जान पड़ते थे, उन्होंने अपने अत्यन्त सौम्य निश्चल नेत्र नासिकाके अग्रभाग पर स्थापित कर रखे थे, इस प्रकार एकाग्र रूपसे ध्यान करते हुए मुनिराजको देखकर राजा वज्रबाहु इस प्रकार विचार करने लगा कि ।।९१ - ९४ ॥ अहो ! इन अत्यन्त प्रशान्त उत्तम मानवको धन्य है जो समस्त परिग्रहका त्याग कर मोक्षकी इच्छासे तपस्या कर रहे हैं ||१५|| इन मुनिराजपर मुक्ति-लक्ष्मीने अनुग्रह किया है, इनकी बुद्धि आत्मकल्याणमें लीन है, इनकी आत्मा परपीड़ासे निवृत्त हो चुकी है, ये अलौकिक लक्ष्मीसे अलंकृत हैं, शत्रु और मित्र, तथा रत्नोंकी राशि और तृणमें समान बुद्धि रखते हैं, मान एवं मत्सरसे रहित हैं, सिद्धिरूपी वधूका आलिंगन करने में इनकी लालसा बढ़ रही है, इन्होंने इन्द्रियों और मनको वशमें कर लिया है, ये सुमेरुके समान स्थिर हैं, वीतराग हैं तथा कुशल कार्यमें मन स्थिर कर ध्यान कर रहे हैं || ९६-९८ || मनुष्य में जन्मका पूर्ण फल इन्होंने प्राप्त किया है, इन्द्रियरूपी दुष्ट चोर इन्हें नहीं ठग सके हैं ||१९|| और मैं ? मैं तो कर्मरूपी पाशोंसे उस तरह निरन्तर वेष्टित हूँ जिस तरह कि आशीविष जातिके बड़े-बड़े सर्पोंसे चन्दनका वृक्ष वेष्टित होता है || १००|| जिसका चित्त प्रमादसे भरा हुआ है ऐसे जड़तुल्य मुझ पापीके लिए धिक्कार है । मैं भोगरूपी पर्वतकी बड़ी गोल चट्टान के अग्रभाग पर बैठकर सो रहा हूँ ॥ १०१ ॥ | यदि मैं इन मुनिराजकी इस अवस्थाको धारण कर सकूँ तो मनुष्य जन्मका फल मुझे प्राप्त हो जावे || १०२ || इस प्रकार विचार करते हुए राजा वज्रबाहुकी दृष्टि उन निर्ग्रन्थ मुनिराजपर खम्भे में बँधी हुईके समान अत्यन्त निश्चल हो गयी ॥ १०३ ॥ इस तरह वज्रबाहको निश्चल दृष्टि देख उदयसुन्दरने सुसकराकर हँसी करते हुए कहा कि आप इन मुनिराजको बड़ी देरसे देख रहे हैं सो क्या इस दीक्षाको ग्रहण कर रहे हो ? इसमें आप अनुरक्त दिखाई पड़ते हैं ॥१०४-१०५॥ तदनन्तर अपने भावको छिपाकर वज्रबाहुने कहा कि हे उदय ! तुम्हारा क्या

Standing firm on the uneven ground, his face pale from the sun's rays, his two excellent arms hanging down like a large serpent, his chest broad and wide like the shore of Mount Meru, his two shining thighs steady like the pillars that bind the elephants, though thin from austerity, he appeared very stout due to his radiance. He had fixed his extremely gentle and unwavering eyes on the tip of his nose. Seeing the Muni meditating with such single-pointed focus, King Vajraबाहु began to think:

"Oh, how blessed is this extremely peaceful, excellent human being who, renouncing all attachments, is performing austerities with the desire for liberation! He is graced by liberation, his mind is absorbed in his own welfare, his soul is free from harming others, he is adorned by the divine Lakshmi. He is equal in his attitude towards friend and foe, a heap of jewels and a blade of grass. He is free from pride and envy, his desire for the embrace of the divine consort Siddhi is growing. He has subdued his senses and mind, he is steady like Mount Meru, he is free from attachment, and his mind is fixed on virtuous actions."

"He has received the full fruit of his human birth. He has not been cheated by the cruel, malicious thieves of the senses."

"And me? I am constantly bound by the chains of karma, just as the sandalwood tree is bound by the great serpents of the Ashivisha clan. Shame on me, this inert, sinful being whose mind is filled with delusion. I am sleeping on the top of the great, round rock of the mountain of enjoyment."
