________________ ४३६ पद्मपुराणे अधिसह्य महारोगान् महालब्धियुतोऽपि सन् । सनत्कुमारमारूढः स्वध्यानस्थितियोगतः ॥१६३॥ बभूव पुण्डरीकिण्यां नाम्ना मेघरथो नृपः । सर्वार्थसिद्धिमतोऽसौ शिष्यो धनरथस्य सन् ॥१६४॥ च्युत्वा नागपुरे विश्वसेनस्यैराशरीरजः । तनयः प्रथितो जातः शान्तिः शान्तिकरो नृणाम् ॥१६५॥ जातमात्रोऽभिषेकं यः सुरेभ्यः प्राप्य मन्दिरे । अभूच्चकाङ्कमोगस्य नाथोऽसाविन्द्रसंस्तुतः ॥१६६॥ विहाय तृणवराज्यं प्रावाज्यं समशिश्रियत। चक्रिणां पञ्चमो मत्वा जिनानां षोडशोऽभवत् ॥१६७॥ कुन्थ्वरी परतस्तस्य संजातौ चक्रवर्तिनौ । जिनेन्द्रत्वं च संप्राप्तौ पूर्वसंचितकारणौ ॥१६८॥ सनत्कुमारराजोऽभूधर्मशान्तिजिनान्तरे । निजमेवान्तरं ज्ञेयं त्रयाणां जिनचक्रिणाम् ॥१६९॥ कनकाम इति ख्यातो नाम्ना धान्यपुरे नृपः । विचित्रगुप्तशिष्यः सन् स जयन्तं समाश्रयत् ॥१७॥ ईशावत्यां नरेन्द्रस्य कार्तवीर्यस्य भामिनी । तारेति तनयस्तस्यामभूनाकादुपागतः ॥१७१॥ सुमम इति चाख्यातश्चक्राङ्कायाः श्रियः पतिः । येनेयं शोभना भूमिः कृता परमचेष्टिना ॥१७२॥ पितुर्यो वधकं युद्धे जामदग्न्यममीमरत् । भुञ्जानः पायसं पाच्या चक्रत्वपरिवृत्तया ॥१७३॥ जामदग्न्याहतक्षावदन्ता एवास्य पायसम् । सत्रे किलाइनतो जाता नैमित्तोक्तं समन्ततः ॥१७४॥ गया। फलस्वरूप वह मुनि-दीक्षा लेकर अत्यन्त कठिन तप करने लगा ।।१६२।। यद्यपि उसके शरीरमें अनेक रोग उत्पन्न हो गये थे तो भी वह उन्हें बड़ी शान्तिसे सहन करता रहा। तपके प्रभावसे अनेक ऋद्धियाँ भी उसे प्राप्त हुई थीं। अन्तमें आत्मध्यानके प्रभावसे वह सनत्कुमार स्वर्गमें देव हुआ ।।१६३॥ अब पंचम चक्रवर्तीका वर्णन करते हैं पुण्डरीकिणी नगरमें राजा मेघरथ रहते थे। वे अपने पिता घनरथ तीर्थंकरके शिष्य होकर सर्वार्थसिद्धि गये। वहाँसे च्युत होकर हस्तिनागपूरमें राजा विश्वसन और रानी ऐरादेवीके मनुष्योंको शान्ति उत्पन्न करनेवाले शान्तिनाथ नामक प्रसिद्ध पुत्र हुए ॥१६४-१६५।। उत्पन्न होते ही देवोंने सुमेरु पर्वतपर इनका अभिषेक किया था। इन्द्रने स्तुति की थी और इस तरह वे चक्रवर्तीके भोगोंके स्वामी हुए ॥१६६॥ ये पंचम चक्रवर्ती तथा सोलहवें तीर्थंकर थे। अन्तमें तृणके समान राज्य छोड़कर इन्होंने दीक्षा धारण को थी ॥१६७।। इनके बाद क्रमसे कुन्थुनाथ और अरनाथ नामके छठे तथा सातवें चक्रवर्ती हुए। ये पूर्वभवमें सोलह कारण भावनाओंका संचय करनेके कारण तीर्थकर पदको भी प्राप्त हुए थे ॥१६८॥ सनत्कुमार नामका चौथा चक्रवर्ती धर्मनाथ और शान्तिनाथ तीर्थंकरके बीच में हुआ था और शान्ति, कुन्थु तथा अर इन तीन तीर्थंकर तथा चक्रवतियों का अन्तर अपना-अपना ही काल जानना चाहिए ॥१६९|| अब आठवें चक्रवर्तीका वर्णन करते हैं धान्यपुर नगरमें राजा कनकाभ रहता था। वह विचित्रगुप्त मुनिका शिष्य होकर जयन्त नामका अनुत्तर विमानमें उत्पन्न हुआ ॥१७०|| वहाँसे आकर वह ईशावती नगरीमें राजा कार्तवीर्य और रानी ताराके सुभूम नामका आठवां चक्रवर्ती हुआ। यह उत्तम चेष्टाओंको धारण करनेवाला था तथा इसने भूमिको उत्तम किया था इसलिए इसका सुभूम नाम सार्थक था॥१७१-१७२।। परशुरामने युद्ध में इसके पिताको मारा था सो इसने उसे मारा। परशुरामने क्षत्रियोंको मारकर उनके दन्त इकट्ठे किये थे। किसी निमित्तज्ञानीने उसे बताया था कि जिसके देखनेसे ये दन्त खीर रूपमें परिवर्तित हो जायेंगे उसोके द्वारा तेरो मृत्यु होगी। सुभूम एक यज्ञमें परशुरामके यहाँ गया था। जब वह भोजन करनेको उद्यत हुआ तब परशुरामने वे सब दन्त एक पात्रमें रखकर उसे दिखाये। के पूण्य प्रभावसे वे दन्त खीर बन गये और पात्र चक्रके रूपमें बदल गया। सुभमने उसी १. कृत्वा म. । २. परमचेष्टना ख. । उसके For Private & Personal Use Only Jain Education International www.jainelibrary.org
