________________ पद्मपुराणे निमित्तमात्रमेतस्मिन् रावणस्ते पराभवे । जन्मन्यत्रैव यत्कर्म कृतं तेनैव लम्भितम् ॥७०॥ किं न स्मरसि यत्पूर्व क्रीडता दुर्नयं कृतम् । ऐश्वर्यं जनितो भ्रष्टो मदस्ते स्मर सांप्रतम् ॥७१॥ चिरवृत्ततया बुद्धौ वृत्तान्तस्ते 'स्वयं कृतः । नारोहति यतस्तस्माच्छृण्वेकाप्रचेतसा ॥७२॥ अरिंजयपुरे बह्निवेगाख्यः खेचरोऽभवत् । स्वयंवरार्थमाहल्यां चक्रे वेगवतीसुताम् ॥७३॥ तत्र विद्याधराः सर्वे यथाविभवशोभिताः । समागताः परित्यज्य श्रेण्यावस्यन्तमुत्सुकाः ॥७४॥ भवानपि गतस्तत्र युक्तः परमसंपदा । अन्यश्वानन्दमालाख्यश्चन्द्रावर्तपुराधिपः ॥ ७५ ॥ संत्यज्य खेचरान् सर्वान् पूर्वकर्मानुभावतः । कन्ययानन्दमालोऽसौ वृतः सर्वाङ्गकान्तया ॥७६॥ परिणीय सतां भोगान् प्राप चिन्तितसंगतान् । यथामराधिपः स्वर्गे प्रतिवासरवर्द्धिनः ॥७७॥ ततः प्रभृति कोपेन "स्वमीर्ष्याजेन भूरिणा । गृहीतो बैरितामस्य संप्राप्तोऽतिगरीयसीम् ॥७८॥ ततोऽस्य सहसा बुद्धिरियं जाता स्वकर्मतः । देहोऽयमभुवः किंचित्कृत्यमेतेन नो मम ॥७९॥ तपः करोमि संसारदुःखं येन विनश्यति । का वा भोगेषु प्रत्याशा विप्रलम्भनकारिषु ॥ ८० ॥ अवधार्येदमत्यन्तं विबुद्धेनान्तरात्मना । त्यक्त्वा परिग्रहं सर्व चचार परमं तपः ॥ ८१ ॥ हंसावलीनदीतीरे स्थितः प्रतिमयान्यदा । स स्वया प्रत्यभिज्ञातो रथावर्तमहीधरे ॥ ८२ ॥ दर्शनेन्धनसंवृद्धपूर्वकोपाग्निना ततः । स्वयासौ कुर्वता नर्म गर्वेण हसितो मुहुः ॥ ८३ ॥ ३०२ जो पूर्वोपार्जित कर्म था वह अब क्षीण हो गया है सो कारणके बिना कार्य नहीं होता है इसमें आश्चर्य ही क्या है ? ||६९ || तेरे इस पराभवमें रावण तो निमित्तमात्र है । तूने इसी जन्म में कर्म किये हैं उन्हीं से यह पराभव प्राप्त हुआ है ॥७०॥ तूने पहले क्रीड़ा करते समय जो अन्याय किया है उसका स्मरण क्यों नहीं करता है ? ऐश्वयंसे उत्पन्न हुआ तेरा मद चूँकि अब नष्ट हो चुका है। इसलिए अब तो पिछली बातका स्मरण कर || ७१ ॥ जान पड़ता है कि बहुत समय हो जाने के कारण वह वृत्तान्त स्वयं तेरी बुद्धिमें नहीं आ रहा है इसलिए एकाग्रचित्त होकर सुन, कहता हूँ॥७२॥ मैं अरिजयपुर नगरमें वह्निवेग नामा विद्याधर राजा था सो उसने वेगवती रानीसे उत्पन्न आहल्या नामक पुत्रीका स्वयंवर रचा था ॥ ७३ ॥ उत्सुकतासे भरे तथा यथायोग्य वैभवसे शोभित समस्त विद्याधर दक्षिण श्रेणी छोड़-छोड़कर उस स्वयंवरमें आये थे ||७४ || उत्कृष्ट सम्पदासे युक्त होकर आप भी वहाँ गये थे तथा चन्द्रावतं नगरका राजा आनन्दमाल भी वहाँ आया था ॥ ७५ ॥ सर्वांगसुन्दरी कन्याने पूर्वं कर्म के प्रभावसे समस्त विद्याधरोंको छोड़कर आनन्दमालको वरा ॥७६॥ सो आनन्दमाल उसे विवाहकर इच्छा करते ही प्राप्त होनेवाले भोगोंका उस तरह उपभोग करने लगा जिस तरह कि इन्द्र स्वर्ग में प्रतिदिन वृद्धिको प्राप्त होनेवाले भोगोंका उपभोग करता है ॥७७॥ ईर्ष्याजन्य बहुत भारी क्रोधके कारण तू उसी समयसे उसके साथ अत्यधिक शत्रुता करने लगा ||७८|| तदनन्तर कर्मोंकी अनुकूलताके कारण आनन्दमालको सहसा यह बुद्धि उत्पन्न हुई कि यह शरीर अनित्य है अतः इससे मुझे कुछ प्रयोजन नहीं है || ७९ || मैं तो तप करता हूँ जिससे संसार सम्बन्धी दुःखका नाश होगा। धोखा देनेवाले भोगोंमें क्या आशा रखना है ? ||८०|| प्रबोधको प्राप्त हुई अन्तरात्मा से ऐसा विचारकर उसने सर्वं परिग्रहका त्यागकर उत्कृष्ट तप धारण कर लिया ॥८१॥ एक दिन हंसावली नदी के किनारे रथावर्त नामा पर्वतपर वह प्रतिमा योगसे विराजमान था सो तूने पहचान लिया ||८२ ॥ दर्शनरूपी ईन्धनसे जिसकी पिछली क्रोधाग्नि भड़क उठी १. त्वया म. । २. साहल्यां ख. । ३. श्रेण्यामत्यन्त म । ४. संगता म. । ५. त्वमीर्ष्या येन ख., म., ब. 1 ६. कुर्वतां म. । Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
