________________ पद्मपुराणे हेमकक्षाभृतः कम्बुध्वजभूषितविग्रहाः । प्रहिताभा वे शक्रेण रावणस्य गजा इव ॥३५९॥ दिशोऽन्धकारिताः सर्वा जीमूतपटलैस्तथा । रात्रिन्दिवस्य न ज्ञातो भेद एव यथा जनैः ॥ ३६० ॥ अथवा युक्तमेवेदं कर्तुं मलिनताभृताम् । यथ्प्रकाशतमोयुक्तान् कुर्वन्ति भुवने समान् ॥३६१॥ भूमिजीमूतसंसक्ताः स्थूला विच्छेदवर्जिताः । नाज्ञायन्त घना धारा उत्पतन्ति पतन्ति नु ॥३६२॥ मानसे मानसंभारो मानिनीभिश्विरं धृतः । पटुनो मेघरटितीत् क्षणेन ध्वंसमागतः ॥३६३॥ घनध्वनितवित्रस्ता मानिन्यो रमणं भृशम् | आलिलिङ्ग रणत्कारि वलयाकुलबाहवः ॥ ३६४॥ शीतला मृदवो धाराः पथिकानां घनोज्झिताः । द्रष्टृणां समतां जग्मुः कुर्वन्त्यो मर्मदारणम् ॥ ३६५॥ भिन्नं धाराकदम्बेन हृदयं दूरवर्तिनः । चक्रेणेव सुतीक्ष्णेन पथिकस्थाकुलात्मनः ॥३६६॥ २६६ तो नवेन नीपेन मूढतां पथिको यथा । पुस्तकर्मसमो जातो वराकः क्षणमात्रकम् ॥ ३६७॥ क्षीरोदपायिनो मेघा प्रविष्टा इव धेनुषु । अन्यथा क्षीरधारास्ताश्चक्षरुः सततं कथम् ॥ ३६८॥ वर्षाणां समये तस्मिन्न बभूवुः कृषीवलाः । समाकुलाः प्रभावेण रावणस्य महाधनाः ॥ ३६९ ॥ अन्नमेकस्य हेतोर्य कुटुम्बिन्या प्रसाधितम् । भुज्यमानं कुटुम्बेन न तन्निष्ठामुपागमत् ॥ ३७० ॥ महोत्सवो दशग्रीवो बभूव प्राणधारिणाम् । पुण्यसंपूर्णदेहानां सौभाग्यं केन कथ्यते ॥३७१॥ इन्दीवरचयश्यामः स्त्रीणामौत्सुक्यमाहरन् । साक्षादिव बभूवासौ वर्षाकालो महाध्वनिः ॥ ३७२॥ बिजली और इन्द्रधनुषसे शोभित, महानीलगिरिके समान काले-काले मेघ जोरदार गर्जना करते हुए ऐसे जान पड़ते थे मानो सुवर्णमालाओंको धारण करनेवाले शंख और पताकाओं से सुशोभित हाथी ही इन्द्र रावणके लिए उपहार में भेजे हों ।। ३५८ - ३५९ || मेघोंके समूहसे समस्त दिशाएँ इस प्रकार अन्धकारयुक्त हो गयी थीं कि लोगोंको रात-दिनका भेद ही नहीं मालूम होता था || ३६० ॥ अथवा जो मलिनताको धारण करनेवाले हैं उन्हें ऐसा ही करना उचित है कि वे संसार में प्रकाश और अन्धकारसे युक्त सभी पदार्थोंको एक समान कर देते हैं || ३६१ || पानीकी बड़ी मोटी धाराएँ रुकावटरहित पृथिवी और आकाशके बीचमें इस तरह संलग्न हो रही थीं कि पता ही नहीं चलता था कि ये मोटी धाराएँ ऊपरको जा रही हैं या ऊपरसे नीचे फिर रही हैं || ३६२ || मानवती स्त्रियोंने जो मानका समूह चिरकालसे अपने मनमें धारण कर रखा था वह मेघों की जोरदार गर्जनासे क्षण-भर में नष्ट हो गया था || ३६३ || जिनकी भुजाएँ रुनझुन करनेवाली चूड़ियोंसे युक्त थीं ऐसी मानवती स्त्रियाँ मेघगर्जनासे डरकर पतिका गाढ़ आलिंगन कर रही थीं || ३६४ || मेघोंके द्वारा छोड़ी हुई जलकी धाराएँ यद्यपि शीतल और कोमल थीं तथापि पथिक जनों का ममं विदारण करती हुई दर्शकोंकी समानताको प्राप्त हो रही थीं || ३६५॥ जिसकी आत्मा अत्यन्त व्याकुल थी ऐसे दूरवर्ती पथिकका हृदय धाराओंके समूहसे इस प्रकार खण्डित हो गया था मानो अत्यन्त पैने चक्रसे ही खण्डित हुआ हो || ३६६ || कदम्बके नये फूलसे बेचारा पथिक इतना अधिक मोहित हो गया कि वह क्षण भरके लिए मिट्टी के पुतले के समान निश्चेष्ट हो गया || ३६७ || ऐसा जान पड़ता था कि क्षीरसमुद्रसे जल ग्रहण करनेवाले मेघ मानो गायोंके भीतर जा घुसे थे । यदि ऐसा न होता तो वे निरन्तर दूधकी धाराएँ कैसे झराते रहते ? ॥ ३६८ ॥ उस समय के किसान रावणके प्रभावसे महाधनवान् हो गये थे इसलिए उस वर्षाके समय भी वे व्याकुल नहीं हुए थे || ३६९ || घरकी मालकिन एक व्यक्ति के लिए जो भोजन तैयार करती थी उसे सारा कुटुम्ब खाता था फिर भी वह समाप्त नहीं होता था || ३७० ॥ इस प्रकार रावण समस्त प्राणियों के लिए महोत्सवस्वरूप था सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि पुण्यात्मा जीवोंका सौभाग्य कौन कह सकता है ? ||३७१॥ रावण नील कमलोंके समूहके समान श्याम वर्णं था और जोरदार शब्द करता 1 १. व पादपूर्ती । प्रहिता भान्ति शक्रेण म. । २. मेघरटितान् म. । ३. वनेन पीतेन म । ४. कदम्बकुसुमेन । ५. कुटुम्बेन तन्निष्ठां समुपागमत् म. । ६. - माहरत् म. । Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
