पद्मपुराणे
इन्द्रनीलप्रमाजालैस्तमसेव चितः क्वचित् । पद्माकरश्रियं धत्ते पद्मरागचयैः क्वचित् ॥७३॥ भ्रमता यत्र वातेन गगने गन्धचारुगा । हृता जानन्ति नो यस्मिन्पताम इति पक्षिणः ॥७४॥ स्फटिकान्तरविन्यस्तैः पद्मरागैः समत्विषः । ज्ञायन्ते चलनाद्यत्र सरःसु कमलाकराः ॥७५॥ मत्तैर्मध्वासवास्वादाच्छकुन्तैः कलनादिभिः । संभाषत इति द्वीपान् यः समीपव्यवस्थितान् ॥७६॥ यत्रौषधिप्रभाजालैस्तमो दूरं निराकृतम् । चक्रे बहुलपक्षेऽपि समावेशं न रात्रिषु ॥७७॥ यत्रच्छत्रसमाकाराः फलपुष्पसमन्विताः । पादपा विपुलस्कन्धाः कलस्वनशकुन्तयः ॥७८॥ सस्यैः स्वभावसंपन्नैवीर्यकान्तिवितारिभिः । चलद्भिर्मन्दवातेन मही यत्र सकनुका ॥७९॥ चिकचेन्दीवरैर्यत्र षट्पदौघसमन्वितैः । नयनैरिव वीक्षन्ते' दीर्घिका भ्रूविलासिभिः ॥८०॥ पवन कम्पनाद्यस्मिन् सात्कारश्रोत्रहारिभिः । पुण्ड्रेोर्विपुलैर्वादैः प्रदेशाः पवनोज्झिताः ॥ ८१ ॥ रत्नकाञ्चनविस्तीर्णशिलासंघातशोभनः । मध्ये तस्य महानस्ति किष्कुर्नाम महीधरः ॥ ८२ ॥ त्रिकूटेनेव तेनासौ शृङ्गबाहुभिरायतः । आलिङ्गिता दिशः कान्ताः श्रियमारोपिताः पराम् ॥८३॥ आनन्दवचनादेव सानन्दं परमं गतः । श्रीकण्ठः कीर्तिधवलं प्राहैवमति भारतीम् ॥८४॥ ततश्चैत्रस्य दिवसे प्रथमे मङ्गलार्चिते । ययौ सपरिवारोऽसौ द्वीपं वानरलान्छितम् ॥८५॥

मानो जल ही रहा हो, कहीं हरे मणियोंकी किरणोंसे आच्छादित होकर ऐसा सुशोभित होता है मानो धानके हरे-भरे पौधोंसे ही आच्छादित हो ॥७२॥ कहीं इन्द्रनील मणियोंके कान्तिसे ऐसा लगता है मानो अन्धकारके समूहसे व्याप्त ही हो, कहीं पद्मराग मणियोंकी कान्तिसे ऐसा जान पड़ता है मानो कमलाकरकी शोभा धारण कर रहा हो ॥ ७३ ॥ जहाँ आकाशमें भ्रमती हुई सुगन्धित वायुसे हरे गये पक्षी यह नहीं समझ पाते हैं कि हम गिर रहे हैं ॥ ७४॥ स्फटिकके बीचबीचमें लगे हुए पद्मराग मणियोंके समान जिनकी कान्ति है ऐसे तालाबों के बीच प्रफुल्लित कमलोंसमूह जहाँ हलन चलनरूप क्रियाके द्वारा ही पहचाने जाते हैं || ७५ ॥ जो द्वीप मकरन्दरूपी मदिरा के आस्वादन से मनोहर शब्द करनेवाले मदोन्मत्त पक्षियोंसे ऐसा जान पड़ता है मानो समीपमें स्थित अन्य द्वीपोंसे वार्तालाप ही कर रहा हो ॥ ७६ ॥ जहाँ रात्रिमें चमकनेवाली औषधियोंकी कान्तिके समूहसे अन्धकार इतनी दूर खदेड़ दिया गया था कि वह कृष्ण पक्षकी रात्रियों में भी स्थान नहीं पा सका था ॥ ७७॥ जहाँके वृक्ष छत्रोंके समान आकारवाले हैं, फल और फूलोंसे सहित हैं, उनके स्कन्ध बहुत मोटे हैं और उनपर बैठे हुए पक्षी मनोहर शब्द करते रहते हैं । ७८।। स्वभावसम्पन्न - अपने आप उत्पन्न, वीर्य और कान्तिको देनेवाले, एवं मन्द मन्द वायुसे हिलते धानके पौंधोंसे जहाँकी पृथिवी ऐसी जान पड़ती है मानो उसने हरे रंगकी चोली ही पहन रखी हो ||७९ || जहाँकी वापिकाओंमें भ्रमरोंके समूह से सुशोभित नील कमल फूल रहे हैं और उनसे वे ऐसी जान पड़ती हैं मानो भौंहोंके सञ्चारसे सुशोभित नेत्रोंसे ही देख रही हों ॥ ८० ॥ हवा चलने से समुत्पन्न अव्यक्त ध्वनिसे कानोंको हरनेवाले पौंडों और ईखोंके बड़े-बड़े बगीचोंसे जहाँके प्रदेश वायुके संचारसे रहित हैं अर्थात् जहाँ पौंडे और ईखके सघन वनोंसे वायुका आवागमन रुकता रहता है ॥ ८१ ॥ उस वानरद्वीपके मध्यमें रत्न और सुवर्णकी लम्बी-चौड़ी शिलाओंसे सुशोभित किष्कु नामका बड़ा भारी पर्वत है ॥ ८२ ॥ जैसा यह त्रिकूटाचल है वैसा ही वह किष्कु पर्वत है सो उसकी शिखररूपी लम्बी-लम्बी भुजाओं से आलिंगित दिशारूपी स्त्रियाँ परम शोभाको प्राप्त हो रही हैं || ८३ ॥ आनन्द मन्त्रीके ऐसे वचन सुनकर परम आनन्दको प्राप्त हुआ श्रीकण्ठ अपने बहनोई कीर्तिधवलसे कहने लगा कि जैसा आप कहते हैं वैसा मुझे स्वीकार है || ८४ ॥ तदनन्तर चैत्र मासके मंगलमय प्रथम दिनमें श्रीकण्ठ अपने परिवार के साथ वानरद्वीप
