(५८७) instrument under the rule ' व्यानड् बहुलम्'। The reading उपवीजैः is also correct. उपवीज्यते अनेन इति उपवीजः । This word is derived from the root उपवीज by affixing the termination | under the rule 'पुंखौ पः प्रायः' । लब्धाश्वासाम् - come or brought to her senses. लब्धः पुनः प्राप्तः
आश्वासः चैतन्यं प्रबोधो वा यया सा । ताम् । किमपि किमपि म्लिष्टवणे लपन्ती - speaking at random indistinctly. किमपि किमकि - incoherent; absurdi. म्लिष्टवर्णम् - indistinctly. म्लिष्टाः वर्णाः यथा स्युस्तथा। म्लिष्टाः अव्यक्ताः इत्यर्थः । 'म्लिष्टं स्याद्वाच्यवन्माने म्लिष्टमव्यक्तभाषणे' इति विश्वलोचने । The निर्णसागर edition reads श्लिष्टवर्णम् | As the reading श्लिष्टवर्णम् , meaning conjunct consonants,' does not agree with the context, I have changed the reading to म्लिष्टवर्णम् . शीर्णप्रायां - standing on theverge of death. बाहुल्येन शीर्णा शीर्णप्राया। ताम् । The word शीर्णप्रायां literally means 'too much emaciated.' The word 914 implies 116€9. 'प्रायो भूम्न्यन्तगमने' इत्यमरः । 'प्रायः पुमाननशने मृत्युबाहुल्ययोस्तथा' इति विश्वलोचने । आवयोः बद्धसाम्यात् - owing to our mutual resemblance. बद्धं च तत्साम्यं च बद्धसाम्यं । तस्मात् । This discription of the young lady is also meant for distracting the mind of the Sage. The young lady is described to have been grieved very much at the departure of Kamatha, whom she, owing to his resemblance to her husband of the former birth, took for her husband.
Stanza24- गाढोत्कण्ठागुरुधू दिवसेषु गच्छसु - when these days, become long owing to her being love-sick, are passing away. गाढा प्रबला चासौ उत्कण्ठा स्वपतिगमनौत्सुक्यं च गाढोत्कण्ठा । तया गुरुषु दी(भूतेषु । करकिसलयन्यस्तवक्त्वेन्दुमुग्धा - looking beautiful owing to her moon-like face reposed in her sprout-like hand. करः किसलयः इव करकिसलयः । तत्र न्यस्तः वक्त्रेन्दुः करकिसलयन्यस्तवक्त्वेन्दुः । वक्त्रमेवेन्दुः । तेन मुग्धा मनोहरा करकिसलयन्यस्तवक्त्वेन्दुमुग्धा । 'सुन्दरे वाच्यवन्मुग्धो मुग्धो मूढेऽपि वाच्यवत्' इति विश्वलोचने । अभिमनाः - very anxious. मर्तव्यशेषाम् - in which death alone is left out. मर्तव्यं मरणं शेष अवशिष्टं यस्याः सा । ताम् ।
