Ahmedabad, and Professor Shri Dalsukhbhai, Malavniya the former Director of the L.D. Institute of Indology, Ahmedabad, all of whom have kindly put at my disposal all the facilities that were needed for fulfilling the task. I am thankful to the Secretary and the Curator of the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, Poona, to Shri Gulabchandbhai Zaveri, the Manager of Shri Atmaram Jaina Jnana Mandir, Vadodara (Baroda), to the Manager and Librarian of Shri Hemachandra Jnana Mandir, Patan, and to Shri Lakhmanbhai Bhojak, Shri Chimanbhai Bhojak - and Shri Kesharichand Bhojak for all the help they have given me either in lending the original Mss. of their respective Manuscript Libraries or in procuring many others from various other private Jaina Bhandaras. I am also thankful to revered Acharya Shri Nandanasuriji and his highly helpful disciples like Shri Vijayasuryodayasuriji and Muni Shri Shilachandravijaya who have rendered singular help for procuring rare copies of the printed editions of the TM. I am thankful to Shri V. J. Trivedi, the then Principal of the Gujarat College, Ahmedabad, who all throughout encouraged me both as the Principal of the college and as an elderly enthusiastic colleague and took a deep interest in my research activites. I must thank the University Grants Commission for graciously sanctioning a grant of Rs. Five hundred for fulfilling this task and filling in the serious lacuna in the critical study of the text.
At the same times, I cannot forget the kind encouragement I got from Professor Malavaniyaji and Dr. Naginbhai Shah, both of them former Directors, Dr. Yagnesh Shastry as also Dr. R. S. Betai, both of them Incherge Dinectorys, of the L. D. Institute of Indology, Ahmedabad, who undertook to publish this Critical Edition of the TM. It was partly due to the assistance and cooperation of my former research student Kum. Dr. Kokila Shah that my heavy burden of preparing the press-copy of the lost portion of the Critical Text could be relieved, in 1985 and for this I must thank her. And, finally, I am thankful to Shri Jagdishbhai, the Proprietor of the Navprabhat Printing Press for their cooperation and prompt execution of a tough job of printing such a Sanskrit text.
