પણ આપણા સામે નથી. આ કારણસર મૌલિક ભાષા ને તેના મૌલિક પાકોના સ્વરૂપનો નિર્ણય કરવો આપણા માટે અતિ દુષ્કર વરતુ છે. અને એ જ કારણને લીધે આજના દેશી-પરદેશી ભાષાશાસ્ત્રજ્ઞ વિદ્વાનોએ આજની અતિ અર્વાચીન હસ્તપ્રતોના આધારે જૈન આગમોની ભાષા વિષે જે કેટલાક નિર્ણયો બાંધેલા છે કે આપેલા છે એ માન્ય કરી શકાય તેવા નથી. જર્મન વિદ્વાન ડૉ. એલ. આલ્સડ મહાશય ચાલુ વર્ષમાં જેસલમેર આવ્યા ત્યારે તેમની સાથે આ વિષયની ચર્ચા થતાં તેમણે પણ આ વાતને માન્ય રાખીને જણાવ્યું હતું કે “આ विषे पुन: मीर विया२ ४२वानी ४३२त छे' (१४. 3).
भी हमारे सामने नहीं हैं। इस कारण मौलिक भाषा और उसके मौलिक पाठों के स्वरूप के बारे में निर्णय करना हमारे लिए अति दुष्कर बात है। इसी कारण से आधुनिक देणी और परदेशी भाषा-शास्त्रीय विद्वानों ने आज की अति अर्वाचीन हस्तप्रतों के आधार से जैन आगमों की भाषा के विषय में जो कितने ही निर्णय लेकर प्रस्तुत किये हैं उन्हें मान्य रखना योग्य नहीं माना जा सकता। जर्मन विद्वान डॉ. एल. आल्सडर्फ महाशय चालू वर्ष में जब वे जैसलमेर आये तब उनके साथ इस विषय में चर्चा की जाने पर उन्होंने भी इस बात को मान्य रखकर कहा था-"इस विषय में पुनः गंभीर विचार करने की आवश्यकता है"।

Because of that it is very difficult for us to decide the original form of the textual readings and that of the language too. And also for that reason whatever conclusions have been arrived at and given currency about the actual form of the language of the Jain canonical texts by the modern Indian and Western scholars are not worth recognition. When the German scholar of great repute Dr. Ludwig Alsdorf visited Jaisalmer this year the situation was discussed with him and he also admitted that there was imperative need to reconsider the whole problem seriously.
