48. In the Harivamsha Purana, each one is diminished downwards from the Simantanarak (first hell). The Chaturshesho (fourth hell) is without a base, neither a series nor scattered ones. ||8||
100. In the east direction, there are 96 and in the west direction, 94 - this is the mixture of the Simantaka. Thus, the total is 388 series-bound pits. ||8||
