581 The fifty-eighth chapter, abundant in explanations, pleasing to the devotees of the world, possessing the quality of being free from contradictions, is the best of the world. If, indeed, the boon is given by the boon-giving deity, then no one should be deprived of their desired object. ||41|| The representative and the support of the wealthy, the work of others, the daily ritual of lamps, oil, offerings, and flowers, all from others. And yet, the boon of others is given by the deity of the ignorant, this is the greatest joke in the world. ||42|| The image worshipped on earth, of the accomplished Jina, is worshipped by devotees with wealth, devotion, and worship. It bears fruit in the hereafter, due to the special nature of the result, like a wish-fulfilling tree or vine, according to the desires of people. ||43|| Falling into the wrong path, causing others to fall, and allowing others to fall, these three evil tendencies lead to the inflow of evil karma, which is the main cause of misery. Therefore, he becomes happy and starts offering blood sacrifices by cutting his own limbs with weapons. ________________ ५८१ एकोनपञ्चाशः सर्गः विपुलसपर्यया प्रणतलोकसुतोषितया विगतविपर्ययत्वगुणया जगतीष्टवरः । यदि हि वितीर्यते वरदया वरदेवतया न भवति कश्चिदप्यभिमतेन जनो विकलः ॥४१॥ प्रतिनिधिराश्रयश्च सधनस्य परस्य कृतिः प्रतिदिनदीपतैलवलिपुष्पविधिः परतः । अथ च वरं परस्य नियतं प्रददाति वृतं जडजनदेवता जगति हास्यमिदं परमम् ॥४२॥ प्रतिकृतिरर्चिता भुवि कृतार्थजिनाधिपतेरधिगतभक्तिभिर्द्रविणभावविधार्चनया। फलति फलं परत्र परिणामविशेषवशादमिमतकल्पवृक्षलतिकेव जनाभिमतम् ॥४३॥ 'अपथनिपातपातनघनानुमतैरशुभैस्विमिरशुभास्रवो भवति दुर्गतिहेतुरलम् । पथि यतिभाषिते स्वकृतकारकतानुमतेर्भवति शुमास्रवः सुगति हेतुरपीह शुभैः ॥४४॥ मनसि शुभे निजे वचसि वा वपुषि प्रगुणे किमिति न पुण्यमेव जगदेकगतं कुरुते । घटयति पापमेव विगुणेस्तु कृतैः करणैर्गुरुतरमत्र कारणमहो गुरुकर्मकृतम् ॥४५॥ तिमिरमरं त्रिमूढिमयमत्र दृढं जगतः स्थगयदलं पवित्रनेत्रमनौषधकम् । तदिह जनो दिदृक्षुरपि तत्वमतत्त्वमपि प्रतिपदमाकुल: किमु निरूपयितुं क्षमते ॥१६॥ कार्यसिद्धि तो अपने पूर्वकृत कर्मके अनुसार होती है परन्तु देवताकी प्रतिनिधि रूप मूर्तिकी उपासना करनेवाला मनुष्य उस सिद्धिको उस मूर्ति के द्वारा किया हुआ मानता है इसलिए प्रसन्न होकर शस्त्रोंसे ही अंगोंको छेदकर खूनकी बलि देने लगता है। जो अपने ही अंगोंको छेद डालता है उसे दूसरेके अंग छेदनेमें दया कहाँ हो सकती है ? ॥४०॥ नम्रीभूत मनुष्योंने बहुत बड़ी पूजासे जिसे अच्छी तरह सन्तुष्ट कर लिया है और जिसका विद्वेषरूप विपरीत गुण दूर हो गया है ऐसी वर देनेवाली उत्कृष्ट देवीके द्वारा यदि संसारमें इष्ट वर दिया जाता है तो किसी भी मनुष्यको इष्ट सामग्रीसे रहित नहीं होना चाहिए। भावार्थ-जब सभी लोग पूजाके द्वारा देवताको सन्तुष्ट कर उससे इष्ट वरदान प्राप्त कर सकते हैं तब सभीको इष्ट वस्तुओंसे भरपूर होना चाहिए ।।४१।। जिसकी मूर्ति और मन्दिरका निर्माण अन्य धनवान् मनुष्यका कार्य है, तथा जिसकी प्रतिदिन काम आनेवाली दीप, तेल, बलि, पुष्प आदिकी विधि सदा दूसरोंसे पूर्ण होती है वह मूखंजनोंकी देवता दूसरोंके लिए मांगा हआ वरदान निश्चित रूपसे देती है यह संसारमें बडी हँसीकी बात है। भावार्थ-जो अपनी मूर्ति और मन्दिर स्वयं नहीं बना सकती तथा प्रतिदिन उपयोगमें आनेवाले दीपक, तेल, नैवेद्य और फूल आदिके लिए जिसे दूसरोंका मुंह देखना पड़ता है वह दूसरोंके लिए क्या वरदान देगी? ॥४२॥ पृथिवीपर भक्तजनों द्वारा द्रव्य, भाव, पूजासे पूजी हुई कृतकृत्य जिनेन्द्र भगवान्की प्रतिमा, अपने-अपने विशिष्ट परिणामोंके अनुसार परभवमें इष्ट कल्पवृक्षको लताके समान मनुष्योंके इष्ट मनोरथरूप फलको फलती है ।।४३।। कुमार्गमें स्वयं प्रवृत्त होना, दूसरेको प्रवृत्त कराना और प्रवृत्त होते हुए को अनुमति देना इन तीन अशुभ प्रवृत्तियोंसे अशुभ कर्मोंका आस्रव होता है जो कि दुर्गतिका मुख्य कारण है और मुनिराजके द्वारा बताये हुए मार्गमें स्वयं प्रवृत्त होना, दूसरेको प्रवृत्त कराना और प्रवृत्त होते हुए को अनुमति देना इन तीन शुभ प्रवत्तियोंसे शभ कर्मोका आस्रव होता है जो कि सुगतिका मख्य कारण है ॥४४|| इस प्रकार जब अपने ही शुभ मन, शुभ वचन और शुभ कायसे पुण्यबन्ध होता है और वे शुभ मन आदि अपने अधीन हैं तब संसारके समस्त प्राणी एक पुण्य कर्मको ही क्यों नहीं करते? किन्तु उसके विपरीत किये हुए निरर्थक कार्योंसे पाप ही क्यों करते हैं ? अहो ! जान पड़ता है कि इसमें पूर्वबद्ध बहुत भारी कर्मोके द्वारा किया हुआ बहुत बड़ा कारण है ।।४५।। अहो ! देवमूढ़ता, शास्त्रमूढ़ता और गुरु१. विधार्थतया म., विधार्थनया ग.। २. अपथनिघातनिघातन-म., ग.। ३. प्रगुणो म.। ४. विगुणैः मरुतः म.। Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
